Most Helpful Positive Review ATN Laser Ballistics 1500
My ATN Laser Ballistics 1500 came in on Tuesday of last week. I was out of the country for a few days. So today I went out to setup a bait station for a hog hunt on Saturday night and took the ATN Laser Ballistics 1500 along to check some distances to the bait station. Since I own a couple of other range finders why not compare. Range Finder A cost me $650 a couple of years ago and has a listed range of 1000 yards. Range Finder B cost me $295 almost 5 years ago. All distances were originally measured using a steal 100 yard tape then checked with certified survey laser. At fifty yards all thre...

Great handheld LRF

by Papa Chuck, from WA, United States Written on October 24, 2022
This device is accurate and works great with both of my ATN scopes. The reticle changes instantly in the scope at different distances. Not sure how it will work at night with the thermal. Still have a working ABL1000 for that tho.

ATN Laser Ballistics 1500

by Doug, from OR, United States Written on March 5, 2022
I’m a little conflicted with this review. Full disclosure, I did not purchase this range finder from Optics Planet, but rather another internet vendor (begins with the letter M) for significantly less than what it’s listed for here. For that matter it was significantly less than their regular price, maybe because they were clearing it out as it is no longer listed on their website. When I received the range finder I found that it would range nicely but it would not pair with my iPhone. Thinking that it may have shipped with a battery with a low charge, I bought a new battery and it immediately ranged and linked as it was supposed to. The next morning I tried to turn it on and got nothing, it would neither range or link. Long story short, after two more new batteries I determined that it would operate fine for a few minutes on a new battery but would quickly drain them of charge and cease to function. I decided to call ATN directly to ask what to do and the agent quickly determined that they would need to send me a replacement. He emailed me a proof of purchase form that I was to return with my receipt. I did that and then waited for a response which was not forthcoming. After a couple of weeks I called them back to check the status of my return and find out what was supposed to happen next and a different agent told me they had no record of the correspondence. He did, however, email me a FedEx shipping label and okayed the exchange without further proof of purchase. ...

Accuracy and lightweight

by Ron C., Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on February 23, 2022
The ATN 1500 rangefinder has performed admirably for me. It is sturdy, yet light in weight. Easy to canceal and carry.
It is repeatedly more accurate in reading than my old Sig Sauer brand unit. I have no complaints.

Crazy good

by kyle, from GA, United States Written on November 13, 2021
September 24 2021 we harvested the corn.We saw pigs so i grabbed my gun,my atn rangefinder and my dog.My dog and i left with a 300 lbs boar, but i couldnt find my rangefinder.Five people searched 5 different times over the next several days. The field was bushhoged, plowed and seeded again after the cattle where let to eat the remaining corn.It rained I know 6 different times.I went back one more time on October 30 2021 to deer hunt and stepped on my rangefinder, covered in mud when I picked it up muddy water poured out of the case. When I cleaned the mud from the lenses held it to my eye pushed the power and it worked as good as the day I bought it.The ATN LaserBallistic Rangefinder 1500 performed better than I could have ever imagined. I have stopped looking at other companies now for thermal scopes and when I get the funds, my next purchase will be the Thor 4. Crazy good products

My first purchase for the upcoming season

by Santos Hernandez, from CA, United States Written on April 24, 2020
Definitely like the design. Here's my know-how for zeroing this LRF with a thermal: I put my rifle in a cradle, with an already zeroed scope, pointed it at a cup of hot tea at a known distance. Then I simply moved the on-screen ABL reticle to where I knew the scope was pointing.

just what the doctor ordered

by Richard Gray, from CO, United States Written on March 18, 2020
Well, last week I connected it to Xsight 4K and tested everything and everything works. It's fully integrated, so it converts a scope with a software rangefinder into a scope with a more precise laser rangefinder, that's all. I left it mounted on the scope and on the second day I totally forgot it was a separate gadget, so if that was the purpose of such design, the concept is really cool.
Pros:
  • Lightweight
  • accuracy
  • Easy
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Get your target ranged
