Upgrading from my old Gen 2. Was excited to get this but disappointed when I first looked through it. The clarity was a big improvement as expected. But there was a rather large black dot in Zone 1 (the center) of the field of view. ATN ships a test report that is supposed to document these defects, and a certain range is “acceptable” for their QC. But in Zone 1, only the smallest size is acceptable. The tester documented this spot as the smallest category. It clearly was not. It was large and distracting. My old Gen 2 device has its share of spots. But nothing close to this size.
Returned it and getting a device with a higher quality tube, and from a different manufacturer. Would not roll the dice with this one again.
This bad review reflects ATN's QC, and not Optics Planet customer service, which was exceptional and fast processing my return.

I am a second owner of a gently owned well cared for ATN PVS14/6015 WPT (Gen 3) which has amazing brightness & clarity that is extremely clean cosmetically with 3-4 tiny specks in the edge of zone 2-3 and Z3 that are invisible while in use. Despite it functioning perfectly, I wanted to have my $8200 in new purchase(s) quality assurance inspected by the factory and was very pleased to learn that they have excellent and very knowledgeable product support team w/very client friendly policies for out-of-warranty product. They didn’t say no either to inspecting and supporting an older unit I had also bought on eBay including pro guidance for repairing obsolete models even though I am had bought in the aftermarket an older but excellent tube quality ATN Gen 2 WP unit that I was advised will qualify for a different type of support if I need it. Upon receiving an RMA I shipped this and a defective WP bino w/burn blemishes to Florida (fully insured it was expensive and worth it) with few expectations other than hoping they could help with a full assessment for each.
Throughout the process I was very satisfied with the feedback and regular communications received from 3 different staff member who clearly knew what each other was doing, aka teamwork between the front-end customer service guys and the back office engineers. The amount of time the 3 customer care staffers spent explaining the diagnosis’ to me was paced and structured to my laypersons level of understanding rather than a ...

I returned because I wanted white phos but this was so clear I almost kept it. 3 tiny tiny specks in edge of view. But super clear and bright. Wish they sold a white version I went with trybe white. They are very clear also but do have larger artifacts in view. Personally I prefer the white.

The 3P Intensifier tube is a thin film autogated 3rd gen tube as described on ATNs website specification card. My tube was super clear almost zero noticeable spot in my tube. The image is clear and the construction seems of good quality. This optice gave me a better image than what I used in the Marines. Its a good quality tube so far. The head harness is uncomfortable like you would expect, get a helmet. Besides that everything is operating better than i had expected. For $2800 out the door, well worth the money.

Pics up IR devices very well with clear picture. Had a few black dots, per normal manufacturing standards, but they were on the edge of the lense and did not impair vision. The headset it comes with is pretty much trash, so plan on a helmet kit later. The little IR illuminator is okay, but I use the DBAL illuminator as it is much better and picks up better in the PVS14. Good battery life and focuses easily. I like mine on the non-dominant eye so that I can have my dominant eye unaffected by the light. Works well for night hunting.

Just received, has small black dot almost center of screen, reading manual it states " are not normal cause to rejecting an NVM. Black dots are acceptable if they do not interfere with the operators ability to view the image" maybe its just me but for almost $3000 I feel there shouldn't be any black dots.

I purchased this product mainly because of prior experience with it but couldn't get used to the gear that came with it. Kenny Acres listened to the problem and came up with a great solution. Now, no worries. Thanks Kenny!
Pros:
- rugged
- reliable
- Great image

Worth the price! Clear with no black spots (which I was worried about). No issues spotting an IR laser. Seems durable and won’t fall a part on you over time. Really light weight and has the same setup as every other PVS-14. I’ve used a Mil grade PVS-14 Gen 2 and this one is way clearer and precise. That being said the Mil grade is designed with a resilience rubber finish compared to a plastic finish on this one. I wouldn’t say it’s a minus because I don’t anticipate using it in extreme conditions. It came with a head unit, elbow, green bag, and batteries. Side note it took me about a month to get this from start to finish. Besides the month wait I would recommend it to all. Good investment for out door activities. Especially camping and dealing with the uncertainty of wildlife. No cons.

Was hesitant but finally decided to invest in one of these after using them for years in the Army. Worth every penny. You can buy an off brand PVS14 but it won't be the same as this. ATN is the real deal, reliable, dependable, and an awesome product.

Exellent clarity and quality. Retention lanyard missing from daylight filter, but no other negative issues. The intensifier tube is of exellent quality and clarity. Only one tiny dark spot which is barely noticable. As a civilian, i cant buy a laser aiming device that will match the range and capability of this unit.
Cons:
- Missing retention lanyard on daylight filter/lens cap
Best Used for:
- Hunting and night navigation
