This is my first night vision purchase and after looking at a dozen or more options and narrowing the field to three I chose the ATN NVM14 Gen. 3 monocular. It mounts firmly as described and the casing seems durable. The image is crisp but the task of focusing by using the front and read adjusters was a little confusing at first. Very satisfied with the purchase.

When I bought this unit I was hoping for allot, seeing I was spending allot for me. Well it did not, and still does not let me down. The clarity is crisp & clear, on a starry no moon night I can easily pick out moving objects at 1000+ yards (verified by range finder). Unit mounts great to my firearms allowing me to hunt racoons at night, and I guess it would be good for the "SHTF". Also of course it works great as a monocular, the tube has tow tiny black spots on the outside, creating zero visibility issues. Run time even on AA's is great, also an nice inexpensive option. In my opinion, you cannot go wrong with one of these. As for the unfortunate guy who got a factory defective switch on one of the 3P units, I understand your frustration, but that's all it was, and I'm sure they took care of you pronto!

I have assembled this kit in the beginning of the year and go hunting 1-2 times a month. First, I was concerned as I do not like the idea of placing night vision optics behind a daytime device. The NVM14 sit at the right height to see through the Aimpoint. I have to admit that this combination really works well.

I film movies about wild life. It was not a quick decision to buy the NVM14-3A. It is a bit pricy for me, but Id rather spend some money once and be sure about the quality, than having to spend more money later on something else. I purchased the unit with the camera adapter and goggle kit. I must say this setup will do for any activity, I hardly feel any weight when I wear it. The image is good enough to shoot commercial videos. The only thing which is missing now is magnification. I thought that 1x will be enough but now it turns out that I need higher magnification. So my next purchase is the 5x magnifier which will complete my package.

The ATN NVM14 Gen 3 is a fantastic multipurpose monocular. It has a ton of accessories which gives it unparallel versatility. I like the way it performs, the tube I got was very clean and bright. I like how I can have it on my AR with a weapon mount, and use it as a goggle when I am walking around the woods at night stalking.
Pros: Compact, easy to use, versatile
