Great performance for the price, especially for someone looking for a 1x base magnification with good resolution.

We been using the ATN X-Sight 4K for about 7 months now which is a day/night scope with IR for night. Using it along with nvg's and ir aiming lasers, we have been pretty successful eliminating nuisance opportunistic predatory members of the canine family and feral hogs. We added a thermal monocular and to aid in locating in cover which blocks IR. Been contemplating thermal scopes for quite some time and have tested a few out. We decided to go with ATN Thor series because the price is unbeatable for the quality of the ATN products. The interface is easy to use and very intuitive with ranging, built in ballistics, etc. And since we had the IR XSite HD already, we were familiar with the onboard features and navigation. It's truly one shot zero. After mounting and doing a quick bore sight we were able to put the host in a vise, punch a hole and adjust the reticle to the point of impact. Of course we did some more testing before going into the field, but the scope required no more adjustment. Not having a thermal sight compatible target we simply used a small hardware, busted it open and taped it to a decent sized piece of cardboard on our farm range. The hardware provided an adequate target with the thermal contrast between the cardboard. Looking forward to the battery life in the field although we added the ATN battery backup and upgraded to a decent QD mount. I bought this in hopes of using it as a thermal lpvo on a 10.5" 5.56 build. Nope. Anything over 60-70 yds away is not distinguishable and pixelates out too much when you zoom in. Also, the 1x is more like a .5x. Great for a night time 22lr raccoon gun though.

Unfortunately, I purchased the Thor 4 and it arrived with 12 shots on the shot counter when I first got it up and running, so it appears to be used. When it power it on, it will do 1 of 3 things.
1.) Show a bright green screen and never actually start up, requiring to be shut off.
2.) Show a grey/black screen with a white line moving from left to right, the line stops 3/4 the way across the screen and freezes there, requiring to be shut off.
3.) It will actually turn on about 1 in 10 times, but then freezes after a few minutes.

It is not usable. Anytime that you need a scope, it needs to work. If I have to spend 10-15 minutes turning it on and off and just hoping that it will eventually work, I've missed any potential usage of the scope and any opportunities. Oh, and if I leave it on before I need the scope, it'll freeze and not work after a few minutes.

I went through their steps to update the firmware on the scope, which did not work. I went through all of their steps on how to do a factory reset of the scope, which did not work. It's a pretty terrible scope and an even worse company.

I've emailed ATN's customer support and their warranty department and got NO responses from either one, over several months. I keep following up, but they do not respond. I've included a full write up with pictures of the screen and they do not even respond...not even once. So I have a very expensive paperweight.

First unit I received had the display freeze. Replacement (2nd unit) freezes and locks up every 3 minutes. Worked with ATN customer service both times and after firmware downloads that don't fix the issues, I am supposed to send it to ATN for repair. 2 new units in 3 weeks that don't work.
ATN THOR4 1-10 640 ... RUN AWAY from this product! I am. Review rules forces a minimum of 1 star.

I purchased a Thor 4 1-10x thermal and I had to send it in for some updates. Kelly Prince was incredibly helpful, realizing how important it was she went out if her way to make sure everything was fixed.

If you are putting this on an AR make sure you remove your front iron sight. Even with mine folded down the thermal couldnt focus properly and made the picture too blury to see. Once I got that sorted out the image quality has been excellent! Really happy I went with the 1-10 power. When looking into the woods the base 1x magnification and wide 32 degree FOV let's you know where you are looking at. I've had a few freeze ups in the 2 weeks I've owned it that was fixed by restarting the thermal. Also some dead pixels that go away once a quick pixel reset is done. The only thing that really bugs me is the zoom could be made a lot more responsive. It takes 4 good winds to get from 1x to 4x. Overall very happy with the performance of this thermal and would recommend it. Just wish the Thor 5 came in a 1-10 for the newer technology and sleeker lighter design.

This is the best purchase I've ever made! If you are thinking of coming to the thermal game, this one is the way to go for the money. Unit has tons of helpful features. The menu is simple to understand. You are able to get from one section to another very quickly. The battery seems to last, and the quality of image is perfect. Additionally, the unit is very light compared to other products I've tested. This unit definitely changed the way I hunt and really upped my game.

I've upgraded from night vision to thermal and it was a huge upgrade. Now predators can't hide from me in the grass or the bushes. This scope can detect any heat for the range of more than 350 yards. It’s amazing for the price, all the bell’s and whistles as well. Highly recommended.

This unit is sweet spot between price and performance. Unit has an excellent thermal detection, much better than other scopes I compared it to. Easy and intuitive controls - once set up, only minor adjustments are needed. Amazing video abilities! The coolest feature is the Recoil Activated Video, as far as I know this is a patented ATN feature, not offered by other producers yet. The only one I wish it could update the firmware by schedule without my participation - like most smartphones
