I've used this optic for the last 2 and a 1/2 years.I have had a couple of glitches but ATN has taken very good care of me, THEY HAVE FIXED EVERY ISSUE.I'VE HAD WITHOUT ANY COMPLAINTS.

I absolutely love my ATN thermal scopes—so much so that I own two of them! They're far easier to operate than my Armasight, thanks to their simple and intuitive design. And the customer service? Outstanding! ATN's support blows competitors out of the water.

Even with the entry-level model, I’ve successfully taken down pigs. Since upgrading, I’m even more impressed. The picture quality is AMAZING, especially considering the price point. Honestly, it rivals scopes that cost twice as much.

The only area for improvement would be performance in high humidity. Like most thermals, this scope struggles a bit during Texas's hot and humid summers, but that’s the nature of the technology.

Overall, this is a top-quality scope. Factoring in price, it’s absolutely unbeatable. I’m already eyeing the 1280 for the future! 5 stars all the way! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Pretty impressive to find what you don't know is there at night. Easy to use and setup. It's fairly easy to setup from the instructions provided but watching a few you tube videos helped me a lot. I was impressed by it's repeat ability, I was able to have bullet holes touching at 100yd with a 6.5 creedmore.

Amazing what you can find roaming in the dark. Really like the large zoom because you can zoom out to locate and zoom in tight for detail.

Good quality built. Good video quality at 640. Very good customer service.

I have been using night vision and thermals for over 8 years. I own a night vision scope and 2 other ATN thermal scopes and I have killed hundreds of pigs so I have some experience using these. I prefer using the thermal over the night vision because pigs, coyotes, and racoons can see the IR illuminator. Up close that has resulted in animals running away before I could set up on them. The IR illuminator sometimes is frustrating to use in the summer because you can get a lot of white-out from the foliage that is in front of you from the IR light source. With a thermal there is no required light source and that makes you invisible to the animals.

My friend and I have been killing pigs with a ATN Thor 4 1.5-5 384 thermal for about 3 years. We both are using AR10 style .308s with suppressors. We have routinely shot and killed pigs from 30 yards to 250 plus yards using the 1.5-5X19MM 384 thermal scope. One issue is at distances beyond 250 yards it is hard to positively identify what are pigs and what are cows. Additionally, when pigs bunch up at distances >200 yards it is hard to individually identify the pigs when using the smaller objective lense and low magnification 384 processor scope.

I purchased the Thor 4 640 4-40X75mm to end the guessing. This scope is exactly what I wanted. I can easily identify cows at 800 yards, I can see and identify deer at over 700 yards, and I can see and identify wild turkeys at over 600 yards (turkeys do look weird in a thermal). You ...

I’m writing this review as honestly as I can. The thermal ATN scopes in general have tremendous reliability problems. I started with a refurbished Lt. had to send it back two times. Finally, on the third return the policy was to send new scope. At this time I drcided to upgrade to a 4.5x18 384 model. It’s been sent back twice. It is working somewhat now, but I constantly have to perform a hard reset. The scopes, when working, are good (not excellent) and the technical staff usually will work with you, but reliability is most important. I can not trust the scope to come even turn on ( which has been all but one of the problems). Local stores want nothing to do with ATN products because of multiple issues just like mine. The product performs good when it works and has a lot of function You just can’t hunt in the dark with essentially a boat anchor. I’m sorry ATN but around south west GA you can’t find much pros for the brand. My recommendation to any one spending this kind of money is to invest somewhere else. I hope this helps anyone trying to decide. Last but not least, don’t rely on the quick detach mounts. The aluminum is too soft and will quickly strip with any reasonable amount of torque applied to the ring screws, especially anything above 12 inch pound.

I was enticed to purchase this scope with laser rangefinder due to the lower price and long list of features. I also watched a number of Youtube reviews which were complementary of this scope, I now expect they were paid endorsements.

The scope image locked up (froze) several times within minutes of turning the scope on. ATN tech support advised that I needed to update the firmware. I did and the problem got worse. ATN tech support contacted again, he advised that there is a new firmware not yet on the website. He helped guide me through the update process. The update was completed successfully but when the scope was turned on it crashed immediately and would only show a black screen. ATN advised that I should send it in for repair; I chose to return it for a refund. I don't want to own a $4,300 scope that is subject to becoming worthless with the next firmware update.

Positives:

2. Features (one shot zero, recoil activated video)

4. Menus easy to access an to navigate

Negatives:
1. Cheaply made, little attention to detail
2. Unstable operating system
3. Image on viewfinder is unclear/foggy in the center even after both focuses were adjusted
4. Scope was aligned poorly when mounted on gun. After sighting in the scope, the reticle was significantly off center. Shims were needed to properly align scope/reticle with gun
5. Rangefinder would not align with scope reticle. Hard to tell what point was being measured.

After sending back the first 3 it looks like so far I have a working model. I still have an issue with the pitcher freezing up now and then but the optics are great. The service guys were good at getting the replacements sent back but I really would liked to have been able to get them to check them before sending the replacement scopes. It was inconvenient but worth the trouble.

I upgraded from the 2.5x version and couldn't be happier! While the 2.5x version was good for 150yards and in, the resolution this offers at further distances is fantastic! I wasn't sure I purchased the correct magnification for my needs the first time around, but Jacob with ATN offered his FANTASTIC customer service. He allowed me to upgrade and the entire process was quick, easy and painless! I highly recommend their products, and ask for Jacob for the best sales and support possible!
