A must for any serious night hunter
This review was originally posted under the Thor HD 640x480 1x10 by mistake. My apologies. The price tag is a bit steep, but after two months of heavy use in the field, I think it was a good investment. The scope is well made, easy to use, it holds zero, and has the best image quality among comparab...

Defective Unit
The unit was defective out of the box. After booting up there was no picture save a pixilated image. It also kept spontaneously updating its ROM. It also would not turn on half the time. It was sent back for an exchange. Will update this review when the replacement comes. This is pretty inexc...

ATN HD 640 2.5 x 25
No where near the quality I was expecting for this amount of money. Used cheaper thermal scope with much better display. Do not believe YouTube videos. You will not be able to tell a horse from a cat at 100 yards. Will never do an ATN. And opticsplant.com again very disappointed. Actually called ATN to see if they would trouble shoot with me maybe I did something wrong only to get leave a message. Then compared to another person scope. Way better. I will be throwing the 640 x 480 scope in trash. Will end shooting something by mistake or will never shoot as unable to identify. It is. POS. NUC It is actually correct in the set up ….

ATN Thor 640 2.5x25
This scope is awesome! I have used this scope in all types of conditions, from light rain to dense fog. It has helped me identify and kill over 90 hogs and 20 coyotes since I’ve had it. ATN customer service is awesome each and every time I had a question. A big shout out to OLIVER VALLERO with ATN also.

Awesome Thermal Scope for the price
I owned a few ATN scopes(XSight II, 4K, Thor HD, and Thor 4) and I like this Thor HD for hog hunting at night. I can create multiple profiles for multiple guns and/or projectiles. The in scope video capture is a plus. The quick release mount is nice. There is nothing compare with this ATN Thermal scope for the features and price.

Thor HD Thermal nothing can hide
It’s amazing how well thermal technology works. I have been able to identify targets easily over 400 yards. Once an animal is present in the field of view it you know and can determine what it is. Nothing can hide in the dark.
Pros:
- Detection range and ability to identify target
Cons:
- Big investment
Best Used for:
- Hog Hunting

Upgrade my old scope to thermal - Great!
Extremely happy with this purchase. Previously, used the XSight & then XSight 2 for many years and decided it was time for a thermal scope. I love ATN products, so the Thor HD was not problematic for me. It is just like the XSight 2, but gives you a clean thermal image. Sighting and features work just as good as the Night Vision.

Not as good as it should be
Thought I would give an honest review for the Thor-HD 640-480, This is my second thermal scope. the first was an Armasight Zeus, 2015.
first off, the buttons are difficult to manipulate. Totally impossible to use with gloves. To power up you must depress and hold the power button a few seconds. And something they don't mention on any of the advertisement, you must do a NUC every time it is powered up. Which requires an additional press of the power button. (( and the cover must be on before the NUC )). I thought the resolution was not as good as my 2015 model Armasight Zeus 160x120 30hz. the most annoying problem is the eye relief. Nearly have to have my eye touching the scope to see all the display. Hello scope burn. Had to mount it 1 1/2" high with risers to allow proper eye relief. The good, the digital zoom worked well thru 10x, after that it is useless. Was able to identify a Cow clearly at 650. The digital recording was a nice feature. The Rangefinder is a bit iffy. Takes several steps to get a range, it does not happen very fast. Have not tried the profiles with the ballistic calculator. The Menu system is fairly easy to access and program. The Phone app is a bit finicky but does work and you can see a live feed of what the scope is seeing, and you can make adjustments from the app. I have had the unit for a short time so its still up in the air if it gets returned or not. I would recommend looking at the Armasight Zeus or something in that line ...

Must have for night hog hunting population control
After years of watching the whitetail deer population get displaced by the rapidly growing hog population it was time to investment in the best tool to do so. Go thermal! ATN has great products. Waiting on the laser product to sync with this for automatic ballistic adjustments.
Pros:
- Works well with iPhone and IPad
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- night hog hunting

Incredible
I purchased this scope last fall to thin the hogs on my lease. After opening day they go nocturnal and keep the deer off the fields. The imagery and clarity of this scope on my AR is devastating when the hogs come out at night with total confidence. The playback video is awesome to review & show friends, Im sure they will all be purchasing this year!!!!! thank you for the added discount coupon!
Pros:
- Super easy sight in zero
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Nocturnal control of hogs, raccoons and other pests
Would recommend: Yes

Good night vision
I have had the scope out two nights and have not been fortunate enough to have any predators come in. However, it was easy to spot the whitetail deer and Blackbuck antelope on the property. Set up took some time as there are a lot of steps and options. Zeroing in was easy with the one shot zero system, additional shots were fired to validate the sight in. Used it in South Texas where the night temperature was about 65*. Good heat signature, I was able to see a rabbit at 80 yards.
Downsides - I am not a fan of the bayonet style mounts, but this one seems pretty firm. I would like the option of removable or a fixed. Also, the scope is not very high off the picatinny rail, so you have to scrunch down to get a full view of the screen. I will probably add a riser to the weapon for a higher mount. Note that while you are looking through the scope, you are viewing a lighted screen at night. There is some night vision reduction after looking through the scope until your eye readjusts.
I liked the various reticles and colors.
Price was very attractive compared to other scopes I looked at (Trijicon).
