I recently picked up two of these B5 Systems CAR15 LS2 grips, and they are exactly what I was looking for to finish off my "retro" builds.

If you’re going for that classic, old-school aesthetic but hate the ergonomics of the standard A2 GI grip, this is the solution. The most important part for me is the finger groove—B5 put it in a spot that makes sense. Unlike the A2, which always seems to dig into your middle finger, this one feels natural and comfortable.

It’s also surprisingly great for those of us with larger hands. If you’ve ever felt like you’re holding a toothpick when gripping a standard rifle, you’ll appreciate the extra real estate here. Finally, a grip that doesn’t make me look like I’m trying to drink tea with my pinky out—my hands fit on the thing! It’s basically the only grip on the market that doesn't make me feel like Andre the Giant trying to use a smartphone.

Solid texture, perfect retro looks, and great ergonomics. Highly recommended for anyone doing a throwback build who wants to enjoy shooting it.

Abd it has storage!

This OD Green pistol grip with storage compartment is exactly what I was looking for. The quality is nice and it looks close enough to a mil spec grip and it has storage. The back of the grip has a slight arch to it so thats the biggest difference between it and a mil spec grip in appearance. Its slightly thicker also. It feels very nice in my hand. Better than mil spec.

I really love the look and feel of this grip. It feels professional. The compartment is secure, and can store gear without worrying it may fall out eventually. Great for a Car-15 clone.

The LS2 grip exceeded my expectations. First, it's been manufactured to a really good tolerance at least on the lowers I tested it on, meaning it fits snugly and the top aft portion doesn't protrude out any extra to the sides which is good, it's pretty much perfectly flush with the sides of my early 2000s Colt lower. Also, the texturing on this has been done intelligently-- it's pronounced enough to help lock your grip in, but not so much as to cause abrasion--right in the sweet spot of what I prefer. The storage compartment is also solid-- I was again pleasantly surprised at how positive the snap-shut action is, and this seems to me to have a teensy bit more space in it than at least one popular competing option I'm familiar with (MOE-K2). And finally, it is nice and compact compared to many more rakishly vertical angled grip options on the market today, by which I mean it doesn't extend down past the lower as far as some others. This makes it marginally easier to fit into even a thin case. I really like this grip!
