Most Helpful Positive Review nice pack for long in the woods
I just got back from an elk hunt and this is the most comfortable pack I have ever had on. I really appreciate the 3 compartments and the 2 smaller out ones. The only suggestion I have is to take off the water bottle pouches (they are to small) and replace them with modular webbing to attach pouches, other than that Badlands will my choice when I have to replace my other larger packs.

Almost perfect

This review is of first impressions of the Badlands 2200 Approach camo. Key things 1. A Leupold golden ring spotting scope did not fit in the spotting scope holder. I modified the holder by removing the zipper and cutting the opening larger. The spotting scope holder would probably work without modifications for straight path spotting scopes. 2. The tripod holder pocket barely holds the larger more stable tripods made today by Ulfhednar and Leupold. I’ll give it a pass on that though since barely seems good enough. 3. The pistol pockets won’t fit a Ruger Alaskan 44 mag or even a Colt Trooper 357. A skinny gun is needed to fit. A S&W Shield 45 fits well. I’d really prefer a better big-boy-revolver fit. 4. The waist pockets are a little far back to reach and unzip easily. 5. Everything else is good including the camo design, robustness and quality, rifle carrier works well, webbing connections are plentiful, it’s early in testing but was comfortable for a two hour hike fully loaded with glass, guns, water, etc

Another great Badlands pack

by Winoman, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on March 1, 2015
I've been using the Badlands Pursuit for several years now and love it - but wanted something more capable for elk hunting. I carry and spotting scope and tripod (along with all the other necessities) and wanted a pack with more capacity that I could strap my rifle or bow to for longer hikes into the back country. This pack really has it all. Anyone familiar with Badlands knows that their build quality is second to none and if you've ever needed to use the product warranty you know it's the best in the industry as well. They will replace and/or repair ANYTHING on the pack for the lifetime of the product - no questions asked! The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because there are 2 things I think they could improve: 1.) the pouch for the spotting scope; 2.) the pouch for the water bladder. Scope pouch - its length is generous but might not work well for larger diameter objectives and/or angled scopes. It would be better if it had more of a cup and strap design like the tripod area on the other side. If they made this change I'd like to see the cup be a solid material - not mesh - so you could put your scope in without the objective lens cap and still protect the objective lens. Water pouch - it's a very specific size and really only designed to hold the Badlands 95oz bladder (which I have not read good reviews about). I would prefer the pouch to be more generic so it could hold a better bladder like the Camelbak Mil Spec Antidote. All that said - I highly recommen...
