I received the safe as a Christmas gift in December 2019. A short time after buying it I noticed the rear panel on the door was falling off but I managed to hook it back on. The problem got worse and worse so about 6 weeks ago I contacted Barska about the issue. It took about 6 weeks to get a response.
After talking to customer service I was told by customer service there is nothing they can do, as I did not have a receipt even though the the safe was in with there 1 year warranty and the problem was a most likely a manufacturing defect. When I pushed the customer service agent I was told that the accounts department would not allow for a repair or exchange. How bad is that, the company would not stand by there product, they hide behind there accountants. Will not buy again.

I never write reviews, but I'm so happy with y purchacse, that I just had to... I bought this safe because I tend to forget things easily, I always end up losing keys and passcodes to all of my other safes. This one makes it quick, simple, and stress-free to keep all of my important belongings safe and secure. It beeps to let you know when the batteries are getting low, and also if you leave the door open too long. I absolutely love that, because like I said, I forget things. The fingerprint scanner is very accurate. I set up my prints and then had everyone else in my house to try to unlock it with every one of their fingers, and all unauthorized prints were denied. I'm sure that someone could bust into it with a few good whacks from an ax, but it wouldn't be easy. Still, this is a very good product. It was just what I've been searching for. I'll be buying another one soon. I love it.

Ths safe was impossible to program .. I got the 1st one and it was broken.. ??!! I got the second one and it would not take my wife's fingerprints .. I bought her a dozen roses as she shoots better than me ....Optics planet customer service was EXCELLENT [ as always ]

This is a great product. My reason for buying it was it was marked from around $450 to $189. I thought at those prices I couldn't go wrong so I ordered 2 of them because I have a 9 year old grandson who spends weekends with us and will NOT leave a gun where he can get to it. I don't even feel comfortable with it unloaded and the ammo stored somewhere else and the gun having the cable lock run through it so that's why I wanted one but I am so comfortable with loaded guns locked in this safe I bought another safe and 3 more guns. I never did feel the home protection part of owning a firearm with my gun locked up tighter than a drum either but now, just by using my fingerprint I can have a loaded gun in my hand in under 5 seconds so I feel like the home is protected like it needs to be these days. This is a well built safe that can be locked down where nobody is going to run off with the entire safe either. I won't give away that piece of info so you'll have to take my word for it, these safes aren't going anywhere.

Adequate safety/security for my needs. I want a safe to keep certain things out of my children's reach. I now own two of these, so I must think they're okay. The door is great. The other walls of the safe could be a bit more heavy-duty. Still, this safe gets the job done for what it is designed to do.
Pros: Easy setup, easy to use, relatively secure
Cons: Could be a bit more substantial for the price

Had some trouble getting my fingerprint to work after installing the safe on a shelf in my closet. Then I reset the recognition process and it worked fine.
I think the problem is that the angle of my finger on the glass was different where it was set with the safe on my bed than on the shelf which was about head high. Maybe this should be mentioned in the instructions.
Pros: It does what I bought it for.
Cons: A little hard to get set up for my fingerprint.
