Only mag release I use
Just completed my 50th build and I won’t use any other mag release than this one. Inexpensive, good quality, reliable...what else do you need? Finish has held up on all the builds, even under heavy use. Button design is nice and I like the recessed area on the paddle portion itself. Just ordered sev...

Not what I hoped for.
The magazine release is disappointing in two ways. Its glossy black and the button is too smooth. I dont want shiny and overly slick controls on my ar. I should have sent it back. I m not putting it on the gun i planned on.
Mag release
I really liked this product. I would like to install more of these on other rifles I have

Purchased this product for an AR-15 build. It was exactly as described and a Great product for the money. I would definitely buy again and recommend it to my friends.Don’t hesitate to buy this item or anything else from Optics Planet.

Better than standard mil-spec.
I have several of these. I personally don't like the curved button, as I prefer using flush buttons, but the overall product is superior to the mil-spec catch that comes with lower parts kits. Also, the shorter length of part of the catch that screws into the button is perfect for any billet mag buttons that do not screw all the way through. The finish can vary on these.

Can't go wrong
Battle Arms as a company make some pretty solid stuff. So for the price of this it was a no-brainer. It has a great feel and looks good installed in the gun. What I like the most is the spring it comes with. It is about twice as heavy as a normal spring. So if you have a weapon that recoils a little more than your typical 5.56, this will keep your mag from falling out. My 8" x39 would drop mags all the time. Not anymore.

Great high quality mag release.
I really like the bevel on the bar, adds a nice slim feel to the piece. Solid button and spring. Besides the design its about as close to a plain and simple mag release as one can get. Just make sure you install it before the bolt catch or its a PITA to install correctly! I like a tight fit with my mags and it wasn't possible with a UTG bolt catch already installed.

Nice mag release
Solid one piece construction and the button is enlarged and sits deeper in the receiver for positive lock-up of the magazine and height adjustability. Contour and texture is ergonomic. You can set it higher or lower than a regular magazine release. Relief cut in the bar keeps it as light as standard. Will be my go-to mag release from now on. Spring is under more tension than standard buttons because the bottom actually sits lower inside the receiver once installed but it’s a pro not a con for me as it definitely deters bumps and dropping mags. I’m sure it will break in over time and feel softer.
Pros:
- Ergonomic, adjustable
Cons:
- Stiffer spring/preload
Best Used for:
- all purpose

Solid part kit
Well worth the extra few dollars for this kit, Even if you end up using a different button. Awesome upgrade, will definitely buy again and will recommend to friends as well. The spring is also nice and sturdy.

- Design

The Best Mag-Release
I bought my first one for my B.A.D. lower receiver. I liked it so much, I bought another for my other rifle. I love the closed look of the mag release button, and unlike other company's (Seekinz), it doesn't stick out more than the standard mil-spec buttons. The mag-release itself is a better looking option than other mil-spec mag releases. All and all, it is a great product.
Pros:
- Good Looking, Not Bulky
Cons:
- Makes you want to ditch your mil-spec parts.
Best Used for:
- An upgrade from mil-spec
Would recommend: Yes
Very nice bolt catch
Works great have it on 3 of my AR's. Alowes you to keep both hands in fireing position and still release the bolt. This is very helpful if you are doing load development where you might be loading a single round at a time.
Pros:
- Easy to install
- Convient to release bolt
- Do not have to worry about screws coming loose like add on units
Cons:
- Might get caught on loose items
- Bigger than just the standard bolt release
