Great SBR case once you replace the egg crate foam with pick apart foam
Been using the FDE version of this case for about two years. The twist lock clasps work well and have stood up to repeated over-stuffings of the case. The O-Rings no longer are airtight but this is my doing unfortunately. See comment about repeated over-stuffings. Don't do that.
The only real co...

Case is a no go, case lid quickly warped
Seems to be decently built, well built heavy that is it seems. Nice butterfly latches , BUT bummer is that it’s cumbersome to get into footwell in the back seat of a Honda Ridgeline. And over past few weeks, the corners have bowed up considerably. I haven’t tested it since this happened, but I can’...

Great case for the money
Could have spent more money on the Pelican, but this works nicely. As others have said, the corners come up a very little bit, but it still seals, and once the rifle is in the case everything closes nicely and I don't notice it as much. I will only be using the case to go to and from the range, the rest of the time the rifle will remain in the safe locked up, so it doesn't have to be 100% waterproof. The only thing that is a bit of a downer is that it's a one-ply foam top and bottom. I made the mistake of doing a very nice cutout but then realized the rifle will just be sitting on the plastic case. So I put the foam I cut back in and it's fine. It would have been nicer if there was two-ply foam for where the rifle sits, that way you could do nice cut-outs for the rifle, pistol, mags, etc. I'm sure you can purchase more foam from their website, but at least Pelican gives you multi-ply's to do cutouts. Aside from that it's good and will do the trick.
Pros:
- Price
Cons:
- no multi ply foam
Best Used for:
- Going to the range

decent for the money.
At half the price of a name brand case, this will do the trick. Not five stars because the case came a bit dirty/greasy on the inside. Also, the corners of the of the case do not close tightly, meaning it isn’t water proof like it is supposed to be. Also not super stiff like a good case, BUTT! For the purpose of throwing my guns in the truck and going down miles of gravel roads and potholes and keeping them in good shape, it’ll do the trick.
Pros:
- low price
Cons:
- None

Boyt Gun Case
This case is perfect for my Sig AR with scope. Now I can leave my scope on and not have to remove it. Risking breaking my scope. My old case was too narrow to allow the scope to stay on. Love this new case.
Pros:
- wider
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Transporting your gun
Would recommend: Yes
Good Quality Case
Overall, I think this is an excellent case. I was looking for a quality case without having to spend on the higher budget offerings. This seems like a great option for the price. My 16" AR-15 fits in snugly and is firmly held in place during transportation. I prefer the egg carton interior as it allows for flexibility down the road. I think this might be a bit bulkier/heavier than some of the other options, but this isn't that much of a concern for me as I am focused on protection. I would recommend this case and will consider purchasing more to protect future firearm purchases!
Pros:
- Price
- Durability
Cons:
- Heavy
Would recommend: Yes
