Brunton axis - Brunton Transit Axis

Very happy with the Axis! It is much easier to use than my old Brunton and the way the hinge works really makes it a piece of cake to measure all sorts of planar surfaces. Strike and dip are both measured together (fast!!!) Trend and plunge are also measured just as fast and there is no messing around with the tough to see bubble level on the inside and lever on the back because they aren't there - no need. It is easier to sight bearings too because you just look through the hole in the hinge rather than using the sight arm and mirror. It also fits on my tripod just like my old Brunton. I really wish the Axis was around 20 years ago and I definitely think people will want to upgrade once they use it in the field. Great instrument.
