Most Helpful Positive Review Great deal so far !
Number 1: Optics Planet has fast service. Give them 5 stars. Number 2: The BSA scope has a nice clear view at all magnifications. This scope is mounted on my Mosin Nagant M44. So far, this scope has taken the punishment of just 80 plus rounds. If she can keep handling the abuse of the 7,62x54...

Most Helpful Negative Review Clear image, small FOV
This scope provides a good clear image over the range of magnifications. Impressive at this price point. However, the field of view is smaller than expected. The spec says 25' at 100 yards. I measured less than half that at 2X magnification. No matter how one positions their eye behind the scope, th...

Lack or field of vie

by The Check Guy, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on February 14, 2025
While this scope is well made and performs well at the lower magnification levels, it is limited by its lack of adequate field of view, especially at the higher magnifications. It is a good value at its price level, just not optimum if you are looking for performance at the upper magnifications levels. I will be using it at the 2x - 4x selection. Also be aware that it does not have parallax adjustment if you plan it use it closed that 50 yards.
Pros:
  • good at lower magnifications
Cons:
  • lack of field of vies
Best Used for:
  • target single shot handguns

Great for the price.

by Jones, Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on June 2, 2023
Bought for a Ruger 44. Concidering picking up another for my SOCOM 16. The large eye relief is great and concedering the price and what it's stood up to so far (multiple 44 Mag rounds while mounted on my revolver) it really can't be beat.
Pros:
  • cost
  • Durabil
  • large eye relief
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • firearms that require large eye relief

Bsa and product misrepresentation

by Tomc, from WI, United States Written on February 10, 2023
Optics Planet packed well and got the scope to me in less than a week. My complaint is with BSA (Gamo) This scope is not a pistol scope. Eye relief is a measured 10.5 inches on 2 power and of course much less at higher power and the scope weighs 9.21 ounces not 7.5 as advertised. It suits my purposes as it will go on a bench pistol but for you, if you think you’re going to mount this and have your arms fully extended, guess again it won’t work. Looking at old reviews I see where eye relief wasn’t an issue so I think the product changed, but the specs are referring to an older model. Also you’d have to pay to return it to Bsa even though their product misrepresentation IS a crime. If thousands of these were sold buyers could, using a lawyer, initiate a class action lawsuit for misrepresentation and have a case. Buy it if you need a scout scope. It is not a pistol scope.
Pros:
  • Decent brightness and clarity
Cons:
  • Not for pistols and weight is 22.8 % higher than advertised

Learn to clarify the scope

by Thomas Rockhill, Verified Owner from NY, United States Written on July 30, 2022
The scope is crystal clear The parallax on this scope is about 30 to 35 yards any closer and the scope gets fuzzy, here's how you can fix it, at the front of the scope you will see a lens cap turn the cap counterclockwise counter clockwise until it comes off off, then you will see two notches opposite of each other, keep track of which one you're using as a reference point put a little dab of white paint on it if necessary and turn it clockwise it will turn it might be turn a little stiff at first, you can use a hacksaw blade to set between the two notches and turn it clockwise about a third to a quarter of an inch at a time or less look through the scope after each turn until it starts to get crystal clear and it will, set a Target out about 10 15 or 20 yards whatever distance you plan on shooting till it gets crystal clear, please be advised that this could void the warranty on your scope but then again if BSA didn't want you doing that they would have put loctite on the lens cap, mine is crystal clear more clearer than some of my high-dollar Scopes I have, my scope is sitting on top of a Diana airbag air pistol which gets around 550 to 600 ft per second, well done BSA
Pros:
  • The quote the scope is crystal clear the price is not too bad
  • The scope is crystal clear and the price is pretty good I would recommend this scope
Cons:
  • The crosshairs in the scope are a little large but I get by
Best Used for:
  • I had the scope sitting on a Diana airbag air pistol
  • I have the scope sitting on top of a Guyana airbag
  • I have is scope sitting on a Diana airbug

Great service

by Toby, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on May 30, 2017
Ordered this for a Mossberg Turkey Thug with slug barrel. I also use it for duck season. I put it in a set of 1 inch see thru scope rings which allows me to use the fiber optics sights for ducks. Excellent service and fast shipping.

Nice scope for the money.

by Bosct, from CT, United States Written on January 30, 2017
I bought this pistol scope to mount on a single barrel 10gauge shotgun. I needed a long eye relief scope to do so. This BSA 2-7x 28mm pistol scope was exactly what I needed. The eye relief is very generous, and the eye relief remains long enough even on 7x. I prefer a scope over a red dot because a scope has more light transmission. I would recommend this scope to anyone that needs a reasonably priced long eye relief scope.

BSA isn't Leupold but not far from it.

by Occasional shopper, from AK, United States Written on September 18, 2016
I am more of a Leupold guy. Comparing BSA to leupolds should be apples and oranges, but if I am honest with myself I find they are at least in the same fruit basket.

Review after several thausend .22 and 30 or so sw 460.

The BSA edge feels as bright and focused as the equivalent high end scope. The focus ring runs nicely and the scope is well built. I can't find anything I would call less than perfect in manufacture. The BSA edge provides the opportunity to experience a fully fledged pistol scope for relatively little money.

Cons:
1. Most of what I hate about the scope relates to the physics of pistol scopes and spending four times as much money won't change that. As expected it has a rediculously small field of view at full power and you have to align your eye just perfectly.
2. The turrets/turret caps seem excecively tall, which simply takes up too much space and looks a little dorky in my opinion.

To be seen:
I wonder if this will hold up heavy recoil. The lack of a Leupold like warranty is likely one of the reasons for the massive price difference. The difference in optics is not real obvious to my uneducated non-expert self.

Good optics for handgun

by nvshooter, from NV, United States Written on August 2, 2016
The scope has sharp, clear optics and a good range of eye relief. I have it mounted on a Beretta Neos and it's almost of identical length as the pistol. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is because the reticle is very fine, although it stands out clearly on a target. I would have preferred a reticle that is thicker off the actual center. The additional weight it adds to the pistol is comfortable. It appars to be well made, with no discernible defects. The clear lens covers are a nice touch.
Pros:
  • None

  • None...yet

BSA Optics Edge Pistol Scope

by Russ, from MO, United States Written on April 18, 2016
I was pleasantly surprised with this scope. It is very clear and the magnification is very good. I mounted the scope on a Thompson Center .44 mag. and had an issue with it slipping a bit after firing. I had the rings torqued to spec for aluminum rings. I did suggest the rings come with shims to eliminate the possibility of this issue. I am pleased with the scope and worth the money.
