I purchased the Eliminator III, based on the training videos and reviews. I was expecting to mount the scope, sight the scope in at 100 yds. Then input my ballistic data into the Burris software to get the drop number and BC. Taking into consideration that the temperature, altitude, and muzzle velocity. After that, it was aim and shoot. This may be true for some customers but not for me. I have had problems with my scope not calculating the correct hold-over, and Burris representatives have tried everything except acknowledge the scope is defective. They’ve suggested that I chronograph my cartridge to make sure of the muzzle velocity, mount the scope and shoot it at various ranges. In addition, I should shoot at 750 yds to make adjustments to the BC and drop numbers until I get on target. After spending a lot of money on a chronograph, equipment, premium ammo, and membership to a shooting club that has a long range as suggested, the test results are the same as what I had mentioned suspected and told Burris. The scope estimates the range somewhat accurately, but not the hold over. I was able to get hits a steel target at 200 and 300 where the drop is only 2 to 8” respectively. But 400 yds where the drop is 19” it was a miss. The scope aiming point was off from what the actual drop should be for the particular caliber. Had I known that sighting-in and shooting the Eliminator III was going to be such a task, I would not have purchased it. I am sure that there are isolated cases...

This is my first high end scope, so I do not have the experience to compare this scope to a top level Leupold, Swarovski or Zeiss...that being said, I am impressed with the brightness and edge to edge clarity of true scope. There is considerably less blur around the edges at high magnification than my current Cabelas Alaskan Guide 3-12x, 44 mm scope. I am also a big fan of the reticle. I have yet to test it long range, but hope to in the very near future. I will try to update my review after I do.
It is easy to mount and calibrate. From what I can tell so far, this will be a scope that I can hunt with for the rest of my life.

I put this scope on a Smith and Wesson M&P10 .308 with the Magpul options. I know it's more of an entry rifle and not a sniper rifle, and this scope is a bit of a luxury. The guys I was shooting with that day were showing off their Remington .308s and telling me if I wanted to hit anything at distance I'd need a more accurate rifle. Mounting it was fairly easy, at first I thought I needed a base but the scope bolted right on to the stock rail with its supplied hardware. On this otherwise stock rifle the scope sits so low over the top of the barrel that the included lens caps can't be used. I'll eventually need to elevate the scope a bit with some other attachment. After reading other reviews I expected the scope to be some huge thing but it's really not that much bigger than other scopes. It looks great on the rifle.

As for programming, I started off using Federal 149 grain XM80CL standard NATO rounds. There wasn't a direct cross in their chart for them but I chose something that was 147 grain and within 50fps of the muzzle velocity for the BC and put that in. While programming I discovered an error in their instructions. After selecting all the parameters for the round the instructions say to press the "forward" arrow button to accept the values and resume normal mode. That is incorrect. You need to press the "BACK' arrow button to save and exit programming mode. The quick start guide has it correct.

amazing scope. dead balls accurate. six shots to sight in. havent missed anything since. when they say long range accurate, they aren't joking. I wish i could afford one for every gun i own. Burris scopes are clear , precise and well worth the money.

Rock solid mount. It will take a little bit to perfect sighting in but it can be done.BC,bullet drop & MV need to be Known.After all that practice, practice.glass not the best but to keep cost low after all built in rangefinder. All in all worth the money,it will be a game changer!!!

I must admit that I was a little dubious about purchasing this scope. I had read the reviews and I had wathced all the clips about it on youtube, however I still remained skeptical. My thoughts were completely unfounded after I took it out to zero it and sling a few rounds down range with it. What a joy to use. Set up was easy, programming was basic, It's robust and it was accurate as! Shooting 150gr Hornady SST's through it to 300m (Just a warm up) I was hitting 1MOA or less groups...not bad I thought. Would I recommend this product, definitely!

The scope is well made, the optical quality is quite good and the technology is fantastic. The only issue is slight chromatic aberrations in direct sunlight, (color tinting) most likely due to the complex reticle and probably unavoidable.

This scope does everything that it advertises. It will require a little reading though... The instruction book is quite lengthy. But, well worth the time as this scope is shooting very accurately out to 500 yards. Will be extending to 1,000 yards now that it is sighted in.
