Most Helpful Positive Review Burris Droptine 4x14x42mm scope
This scope is very clear, and if it stands the test of time it is truly a bargain. One negative side note, the web sight calls the scope a 4x12x42 in one place in the ad and a 4x14x42 as you read further down. The sales person i talked with was not sure which it was. But, when it arrived it was the ...

Most Helpful Negative Review no quality control
This was a Burris Droptine 4.5 to 14X scope. I purchased this scope because I thought Burris had a reputation for American built quality. Apparently, the person that made this particular scope let this one slip by. First, I could not get a sharp focus at 14x. But worst of all the reticle was off cen...

Good value with features not offered in other scopes

by Jethro Bodine, Verified Owner from AZ, United States Written on December 4, 2025
So far have ordered three of these, and returned one due to buggered up crosshair. Put them on a couple 22 hornet rifles. These scopes are the best value out there. Sleek design for 14 power, not overly heavy, and clear and bright with sharp edges. Perfect scope for small caliber or rimfire due to finer crosshair. Leupold no longer offers 14 power scopes with AO and fine crosshair. Even if they did, this scope might beat it. Vortex offers similar scopes but crosshairs are thicker and don't do it for me on small caliber rifles. Only Vortex scope comparable is crossfire II 6-18 but is a larger scope, almost too large for smaller caliber rifles. TMI! TMI!

Nice Scope for the Price

by John L., Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on October 22, 2025
I purchased this for use on a new .22 bolt action target rifle. To date, I have only sighted it in a 50 yards. So far more than adequate. IT feels sturdy and substantial. Functioned well and the eye relief was fine. I am sure this will be great to use out to 200 yards, the limitations of the .22 LR. I do have a Leupold 4.5-14 power on a .308 that I plan to check out clarity and crispness side by side at long distance with this Burris. but for this .22 target rifle, at this price, it seems better than the inexpensive Chinese made stuff that a lot of shooters are using.

Burris Glass

by Ted Pollard, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on December 31, 2024
Amazingly clear optic, very repeatable adjustment, definitely a great value for the money. Owning multiple Burris products I can honestly say I am somewhat biased as I have never to date suffered a failure of any of my Burris made products in over a decade of ownership.
Pros:
  • Great value and clear optics
Cons:
  • none I've encountered

Great scopes!

by Charles Hendry, from TX, United States Written on December 18, 2024
Great scopes for sure. I own multiple Burris scopes and won’t use anything else. I’ve owned Al of the expensive ones and I’ll tell you for the money you can’t beat them and they won’t break the bank to buy them.
Pros:
  • Very clear

Best Scope for the valve & warranty

by Dennis McLawhorn, Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on November 30, 2023
This scope has very good quality. Super clear. Only took 4 shots to zero it in. With the purchase of this scope now I want to Up-date all of my other Scopes. It's so far better than the Leupold that I had on my 270 browning. No glare in the late afternoon crystal clear. A great valve for the price and the warranty is outstanding.

I put this on my Remington 740 270 Winchester. This scope is clear and picks up light very well. I would recommend to anyone looking for a good scope for a good price. I will be getting another one soon.

Burris Droptine Riflescope - 4.5-14x42mm

by TXBohunk, from TX, United States Written on July 6, 2019
Mostly range time... Shooting 100 yards on a 308 bolt action... using w/150gr Federal White tail ammo: Compared to my Vortex Crossfire 2, it's close but I would pick the Droptine. The glass is great, clicks are crisp, not heavy, etc... for the money... I'm impressed and would buy again. Gave it 4 instead of 5 stars for a few picky reasons. No sunshade (don't really need that), lens covers (need that), etc. However, it has a life time - no questions asked - warranty. Last, she's not only pretty... she can bring home the beacon. Hope this helps...
Pros:
  • Lightweight
  • Lifetime Guarantee
  • Price, quality, clarity
Cons:
  • No caps
  • No Shade
  • Not for magnums

  • hunting
