Burris Droptine 4x14x42mm scope
This scope is very clear, and if it stands the test of time it is truly a bargain. One negative side note, the web sight calls the scope a 4x12x42 in one place in the ad and a 4x14x42 as you read further down. The sales person i talked with was not sure which it was. But, when it arrived it was the ...

no quality control
This was a Burris Droptine 4.5 to 14X scope. I purchased this scope because I thought Burris had a reputation for American built quality. Apparently, the person that made this particular scope let this one slip by. First, I could not get a sharp focus at 14x. But worst of all the reticle was off cen...

Great scope for the range
This scope is heavy, but at the range, it's great. Clear glass, easy to focus, holds zero. At this price, it can't be beat!
Pros:
- clear glass
- easy to focus
Cons:
- Heavy
Best Used for:
- Target shooting

Burris droptine 4.5 14x42 scope
This is my first time owning a burris scope. I am glad I chose it over the bushnell I was looking at. It has a good solid build feels like. And good clear lens. Magnafication was good. I compared it to a bushnell banner I already own. And it was a lot better. Great budget scope for my 10/22. Got my attention to higher quality burris scopes in the future.
Pros:
- Solid built clear lenses
Cons:
- Turrets are a little soft when they click.
Best Used for:
- Budget scope for budget hunting hunting rifles. Or just plinking with a 22.
Would recommend: Yes
Biggest bang for the buck!!
Flawless operation and GREAT price. Responds perfect when sighting in. And seems to hold zero .
Best Used for:
- Deer rifle

A great scope for target shooting
I'm not a hunter, but I am a regular target shooter. This scope is great. Clear glass, easy to focus, holds zero well. The only downside is the weight; it's a heavy scope. While this isn't a deal-breaker for target shooting, at over a pound, it might be an issue for hunters.
Pros:
- clear glass
- Holds zero
- easy to focus
Cons:
- weight
Best Used for:
- Target shooting
Would recommend: Yes
Great budget scope
I'm very happy with this Burris Droptine.I'm strictly a target shooter, and I mounted this to my Ruger 10-22. It holds zero perfectly. I have pretty terrible vision (I'm an old guy), and this helps me shoot 1.5" groups at 100 yards with no problem. I'm also able to consistently hit a 10" steel target at 200 yards. My only regret is that I didn't buy this sooner!
Pros:
- well built
- easy to adjust
- easy installation
- Good clear glass
Cons:
- Heavy
Best Used for:
- Target shooting
Would recommend: Yes
Good value with features not offered in other scopes
So far have ordered three of these, and returned one due to buggered up crosshair. Put them on a couple 22 hornet rifles. These scopes are the best value out there. Sleek design for 14 power, not overly heavy, and clear and bright with sharp edges. Perfect scope for small caliber or rimfire due to finer crosshair. Leupold no longer offers 14 power scopes with AO and fine crosshair. Even if they did, this scope might beat it. Vortex offers similar scopes but crosshairs are thicker and don't do it for me on small caliber rifles. Only Vortex scope comparable is crossfire II 6-18 but is a larger scope, almost too large for smaller caliber rifles. TMI! TMI!

Nice Scope for the Price
I purchased this for use on a new .22 bolt action target rifle. To date, I have only sighted it in a 50 yards. So far more than adequate. IT feels sturdy and substantial. Functioned well and the eye relief was fine. I am sure this will be great to use out to 200 yards, the limitations of the .22 LR. I do have a Leupold 4.5-14 power on a .308 that I plan to check out clarity and crispness side by side at long distance with this Burris. but for this .22 target rifle, at this price, it seems better than the inexpensive Chinese made stuff that a lot of shooters are using.
Pros:
- None
Cons:
- none so far
Would recommend: Yes

Burris Glass
Amazingly clear optic, very repeatable adjustment, definitely a great value for the money. Owning multiple Burris products I can honestly say I am somewhat biased as I have never to date suffered a failure of any of my Burris made products in over a decade of ownership.
Pros:
- Great value and clear optics
Cons:
- none I've encountered
Would recommend: Yes
