Should be better - Burris Xtreme Tactical 5-25x50mm 34mm Tube First Focal Plane Rifle Scope

I know the XTR II line is Burris’s former top tier scope but I’m disappointed with it for a couple of reasons. I think the eye relief should be better for this classification of scope because to me, it is more comparable to an Athlon Argos BTR. The bigger issue I’ve encountered is that the parallax is compromised depending on where you locate the scope rings. I first mounted the scope in a set of Warne Mountain Tech rings but found the parallax knob almost impossible to move on the lower range of adjustment. I replaced those with a set of Trybe rings, thinking that was the problem and encountered the same thing. I moved the location on the rail to find the least amount of binding and torqued the rings to 15 inch pounds. At 18 you could begin to feel some resistance turning the knob. I’ve only sighted it in as of now and am contemplating contacting Burris before I proceed with a box test. Can’t afford to waste any ammo at today’s prices! The good is that it is a FFP scope with an illuminated reticle. The zero stop is solid and so are the turrets with its positive feel and audible clicks.
