Look no more, these 3/4” patches by Pro-Shot are the ones for your 17 caliber. They have the right amount of resistance going down the barrel while doing its job of cleaning the barrel. They hold up and don’t fall apart. Do yourself a favor and give these a try.

This 10/22 magazine case by MTM is really a great idea. Most of us have a multiple magazines and this keeps them all nestled nicely together.

Over the years I have bought many military surplus ammo cans in different sizes and in different grades so I’d like to think that I know what constitutes a grade 1. There is a little rust on every outside panel and also inside of the box and lid, most noticeable on the lid and latch. The color difference between the lid and the box says this is not as issued which is probably the reason the lid does not latch solidly every time, the fit is probably off a little. I could live with it if there was zero rust in the interior and if it closed solidly every time. Definitely not happy with this.

I chose this model for it’s stainless steel rod and also the extras, especially the barrel crown protector. I also prefer the shape and feel of the Pro-Shot Comp handle better than the Dewey. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced shooter, I don’t think you will be disappointed.

I know the XTR II line is Burris’s former top tier scope but I’m disappointed with it for a couple of reasons. I think the eye relief should be better for this classification of scope because to me, it is more comparable to an Athlon Argos BTR. The bigger issue I’ve encountered is that the parallax is compromised depending on where you locate the scope rings. I first mounted the scope in a set of Warne Mountain Tech rings but found the parallax knob almost impossible to move on the lower range of adjustment. I replaced those with a set of Trybe rings, thinking that was the problem and encountered the same thing. I moved the location on the rail to find the least amount of binding and torqued the rings to 15 inch pounds. At 18 you could begin to feel some resistance turning the knob. I’ve only sighted it in as of now and am contemplating contacting Burris before I proceed with a box test. Can’t afford to waste any ammo at today’s prices! The good is that it is a FFP scope with an illuminated reticle. The zero stop is solid and so are the turrets with its positive feel and audible clicks.

Perfect name for this carbine case. I always get a complement when I show up to the range with it after I’ve pulled out my M4 and put it together. It comes with 4 Velcro backed straps that hold the upper and lower securely to the molle pals. Padding could stand to be a little thicker but then it would cost more too.

This gas block from Aero Precision specs out perfectly for my SPR build. It lines up with the gas port and fits snugly on the White Oak Armament barrel even before tightening the screws. Once the screws are torqued, and the fact that it’s made out of steel, you have a solid setup. Clearance is not an issue with Midwest Industries lightweight hand guard. So don’t waste your time with inexpensive, cheap gas blocks, this one will work.

I bought the H2 version of JP’s silent captured spring to run in an A2 receiver extension for both a 6.5 Grendel and a carbine gassed 5.56. It runs smoothly and quietly as advertised. Yes it’s a little pricey but I am completely happy with it.

The fit and finish is excellent for a lightweight one piece scope mount . You can feel that the crossbar fits securely so I’m confident that it will return to zero if and when I remove/reinstall my scope.

Get rid of your old and outdated aluminum cleaning rods and replace them with a nylon coated one by J. Dewey. The ball bearing handle allows you to brush the barrel effortlessly and the nylon coating means you'll never damage it either.
