I am Impressed
I have not taken this device hunting yet. I have however taking it out into the field a completed a series of measurements. The light-gathering ability that this device is as advertised. When I would take readings from 40 yards to 200 yards the device was consistent meaning when I went back to previ...

Had to send back!
I received this range finder and it worked flawlessly for around 2 weeks. Then I noticed my ranges being off. As an archer 5-10 yards makes a HUGE difference and i was reading 5-7 yards off. I called bushnell and without question they sent me a mailing label and asked me to send it to them. Within a...

PERFECT FOR A BOW HUNTER AND ALL HUNTERS
Clear Image, stats bright even after sunset. See Whitetails cigar at 600 yards. Haven't tried any farther, but I'm sure it's just fine. 10 out of 10! Highly recommended for any hunter. Now on to some coyotes i will let you know.

Bushnell 1700 Rangefinder

Cons:

objects in rangefinder are farther away than they appear
It seems to do what it’s supposed to. I’m not smart enough to navigate the menu but luckily I only need the default settings. Don’t test it through a window screen, you’ll think it doesn’t work, but a window screen isn’t reflective enough to give it a laser return. The battery seems to drain fast but that might just be the crappy battery they put in from the factory.

hard to beat for the price
really small and handy sized unit, lasing seems pretty accurate in the mountains. Only downside I've found so far is the battery cap can be a little awkward to tighten without feeling like you are cross threading it. For the price and ease of carrying around it's really hard to beat so I even keep it in the truck now for work.
Pros:
- Soft case
Cons:
- Battery cap

Lousy support.
Bushnell requires you to go online to locate product manual, pointless out in the field away from computer or cell service. After clicking throughout main sales site, product wasn't even listed in their manuals section. Contacted customer service and was sent link that didn't work. A basic operation card would be very helpful. After locating manual for different model and scrolling through multiple languages, pages reset to begining taking more time to locate basic information. Unit times out quickly while trying to program requiring you to start all over again. I will not be investing in any further Bushnell products.
Pros:
- Cheap
Cons:
- Difficult to program and locate info. No manual.
Best Used for:
- Taking up space in your drawers.

Solid Range Fider
Look this isn't a $1000 insane range finder that will call deer to you or let you see individual hairs on an elk at 900 yards. Use it within normal parameters and it WILL do the job. The most important thing is that you will need to spend some time practicing before you are out in the field. With some practice this is a great tool to augment anything but all the longest hunts. If you don't have a range finder, this is a beautiful option to start with, no need to start by breaking the bank. It could be better, but there is nothing at all that it doesn't do.

Not up to par for bushnell
My experience has been fantastic with bushnell products but this one fell short. It has ok glass, locates targets well and seems to be accurate. Why only 2 stars? Well its because its extremely hard to read. Your cross hair, numbers and icons all are very fant. It does serve its purpose but the glass is probably the worse ive seen from bushnell and I could see someone with vision issues not being able to read it at all. Wish I returned it but waited to long only bc it still worked and I needed one for bow hunting.
