Most Helpful Positive Review Bushnell Binos
For the dollar these binos are outstanding. They are clear and bright and preform like binos costing twice as much. Get them on sale and even better. They center adjustment dial spins almost too easy but that is the only small negative I can think of for binos that worked well for me. I used to think that binos should start out at $1,000 to be of use but no longer. If you are not a guide or using them every day these binos will work great.

Great Binos

by W, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on September 29, 2018
I was looking for a pair of binoculars to keep by the back door for spotting coyotes & other wildlife at up to 600 yds, and do some stargazing as well. Went with the 10x50 at just over $100 from Optics Planet. These are exceptionally clear with excellent light gathering and seem more powerful than other 10x I have. They are hefty making them a little heavy to carry around all day, but perfect for what I do with them and would not hesitate to take them to the stand on a hunting trip. I like the attached lens covers which keep them from being misplaced. Very nice for the price.

We may have a winner...

by EZRA2EYES, from MA, United States Written on June 13, 2018
After some comparisons the Trophy Xtreme 8x56, with e.g., star fields in Cygnus, Pleiades and Hyades, my conclusion is though they are "just" roofs, for astronomy they either equal or surpass the Celestron Skymaster 8x56 DXs. The purported depth of field superiority of Porros may becoming outdone these days with outstanding coatings, dielectric mirrors included - what Bushnells PC-3 is said to mean.

And, really, these things are built like tanks.
Pros:
  • Water/fog proofing
  • Superior coatings
  • Extra rugged design and "feel"
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Hunting Recreational viewing
  • Astronomy & Terrestrial

Even if you're not hunting...

by EZRA2EYES, from MA, United States Written on February 19, 2018
Just because I'm stuck at home, decided to try out the Bushnell Trophy Xtreme 10x50s for some stargazing. That particular configuration is highly regarded for hand-held astronomical pursuits, yielding just enough power, but not so much as to require absolutely a tripod.
I took out a chart and noticed that Ursa Minor was perfectly located in the darkest area of the grounds surrounding my apt.complex. I could easily, in this rather primitive (yet very simple) set-up, get down to magnitude 8.5 stars, but in said constellation there are few, if any, deep sky objects to find. But even the usually noticeable shakes weren't much of a distraction since the stars were so sharp and focused. Try that with junky bins and you'll get what I mean.
My guess is that hunters would appreciate the brightness factor of these in twilight situations or in deep dark woods.
All in all, I was more than a little impressed by the precision that was obviously present in the optics as well as the overall rugged feel of the unit.
Pros:
  • Fine optics
  • Waterproofing
  • Rugged durability
Cons:
  • Hard to attach tripod adapter
Best Used for:
  • hunting
  • Astronomy
  • Any other sports or scenery
