Quality Product with One Particular Drawback

Written on Aug 10, 2026

I purchased this sight along with the rear Eagle Eye Rear Peep Sight. The quality of the unit is nice. My issue with the sight is that the blade on the front sight is too big. If you are trying to center on a target that is less than 4" in diameter. The blade covers up the entire target. At that point it is guess and shoot. I installed the rear peep sight as well. But that almost makes the sight picture worse. Not only can you not see a small target. Now since the ID of the rear peep sight is much larger than the fiber optic on the front sight. You are guessing about placement on the front sight. As well as trying the center the smaller fiber optic on the front with the much larger opening in the rear sight.
Tandemkross claims that these sights were designed for use on their 22LR Spitfire Lightweight barrels which I bought. You would think that a little thought would have been given to the size of the blade in relation to target acquisition with a 22 round.
If this isn't an issue for you. This would be excellent option for someone.
Considering the price point. I had considered just leaving the unit on my rifle. But after reconsiderations. I will probably be returning my sights to Optic Planet.
