Although these don’t completely eliminate the “ping” sound, they do a pretty good job. This muzzle device makes sense if you are not planning on shooting suppressed all the time. Dead Air suppressors come with the brake that is very loud but effective at keeping rifle on target and offers no flash suppression. It’s a tad overpriced which cost it a star but it’s quality.
Needed a spring for an intermediate length receiver extension on an AR-10 using a carbine buffer. This spring fit the bill and appears to be one of the better options out there. Will be utilizing Strike Industries Optimus buffer due to its ability to be adjustable but any milspec buffer will work. Would’ve been 5 stars had it come in packaging shown and not in a plastic bag from manufacturer. Make sure to check your spring for damage upon receipt especially if shipping box is received damaged or shipped only in a bubble mailer.
Strike Industries makes a lot of great products but it seems like they always fall just one step short of perfection in design. This buffer is very easy to use for its intended purpose and utilizes 4 buffer weights (tungsten, steel, aluminum, polymer) rather than your typical 3 weights. Only instructions it came with show standard H1, H2 and H3 configuration but if you go to website you realize there are at least a dozen different configurations as you would expect with the ability to use 4 weights with 4 different materials. The polymer end of buffer seems thinner than many others out there and the top is just screwed on with a rubber o-ring so I’m curious how well it will hold up in my AR10. Price is pretty steep at $65 as well.
Geissele makes high quality firearms and accessories. They unfortunately tend to be overpriced and proprietary. The Super 42 buffer and buffer springs are a perfect example. Due to inner diameter of buffer spring you can only use a Geissele buffer. That’s why they are only sold as a set. You have the option of H1, H2 and H3 (number indicates how many tungsten weights inside buffer). These buffer weights allow you to swap steel weights for heavier tungsten weights to change the overall buffer weight. My opinion, since it’s proprietary sell Super 42 set as carbine weight (3 steel weights) and then include 3 tungsten weights to allow for adjustability from carbine - H3. It would add a few bucks to the price but would cut down on inventory needing to be managed at warehouse and create happier customers. That’s what you call a win, win.
I’ve used several brands of charging handles for suppressed shooting and when it comes to checking all the boxes this is the one. There may be others out there that outperform in specific areas but if you’re looking for a well designed and reliable one go no further.
I’ve been using Magpul’s polymer ejection port covers due to their durability (do not warp like aluminum) and ease of installation. Unfortunately Magpul does not make one for large frame AR’s. I was extremely happy with the quality of the Strike Industries Ultimate Dust Cover. Would’ve been 5 stars if install didn’t require tools (like Magpul) and it was a few bucks cheaper.
Although there are a lot of variables when it comes to properly mounting an optic on your rifle, this takes most of the frustration out of it. Need a level surface under optic for it to work properly. Ensure your mount stays level after torquing it down on cantilever mounts. Works best with individual ring mounts using top of receiver as level surface. Price seems a tad bit high for what you get and it would be nice to have a better finish and something to store them in.
