looks great, works great

Have the Romeo 7s in FDE mounted on a BRN-180S upper. The size is perfect, & i lobe the MOTAC feature. It seems to be very well built & should last a very long time for casual shooters. I dont think you can find a better red dot for the price range.

excellent!

Written on Jul 31, 2022

I bought a stripped X-Carry carry slide & barrel & after a lil research i ended up going with the lone wolf extractor. & im so glad i did. I already had a stock P320 FS which works well, but after using my X-Carry woth this extractor installed i noticed how it ejected spent brass with authority & with far more consistency than the OEM extractor in my other 320. Plus it gives it a nice custom look. Easier to keep clean & never worry about havinh any extraction issues, no matter the ammo im using. Also, like somone else already mentioned, the DPM recoil reduction system is an excellent upgrade for anyone looking to get their Sig running at its best. This extractor, DPM recoil rod, a nice trigger from GrayGuns is the ultimate combo for noticeable change in performance.

MUCH better than roll pin, of installed correctly

Written on May 15, 2021

I jave used these on 3 builds. The main thing is to ensure that u install the E clips correctly & that it isnt bent. If u dont get a positive "snap" when clip is installed then it is either bent or not secured properly. It comes with 3 clips so just if u dint get it right the 1st time l, just put the next one on ensuring u get that positive snap feel/sound. As long as u do that it will stay in place without any issues. I love using these.

Excellent quality & ergos

Written on Apr 21, 2021

This grip has become my favorite general use A2 grip replacement so far. The Magpul K2 is a great grip but i personally dont like the extended beaver tail on the K2. The grip width fits my hand perfectly ( i buy medium sized gloves, but i would say that my hands are slightly bigger than medium). I also really like the aggressive texture on this grip which is similar, if not more aggresive than a milspec A2. Again, thats a personal preference. The angle of the Troy grip is in between an A2 & Magpul K2, but closer to the K2. The quality is excellent & the storage door secures very well & theres plenty of room for spare tools, batteries etc. The little tab which acts as a filler for the gap between the trigger guard & the grip is a nice touch & has a slight angle making that area of the grip much more comfortable. Small details like that make a huge difference IMO. If u are looking for a grip with a very steep angle, than i would recommend the Hogue Swift grip which is extremely steep & also has nice texture & width for my sized hands. Plus it has a very aggressive look, its awesome. I use the Hogue for my compact, 5" AR pistol. The Troy has an angle that is good for any AR setup, but IMO is best used for M4 style builds.

I love these selectors

Written on Apr 20, 2021

I will never use a 90° selector ever again. Love the feel, look, & finish on this. The price is right also. As far as people not liking the stiffness, i think thats a personal thing cuz i love having a positive click that i can hear & feel. Especially when using a 45° selector. If u dont like the amount of resistance u can easily fix ot by cutting some of the spring down a lil. Only con is the short selector os a lil too short, but not a big deal. Great part. I have 3 of em.

Love it! Functions great

Written on Apr 20, 2021

The shape of this mag release button is far superior, IMO, than any other extended/enhanced mag button that ive ever used. I've used Manticore, Armaspec, SI, & a couple others. Ergonomically, this one by Phase 5 is my favorite hands down. The size & shape make hitting ur mag release much faster & easier, especially if u get it to replace a milspec one. I got it in black. The finish is a lil shiney, but looks good IMO. Manufacturing quality is great & installation was very simple. I used this button paired with an enhanced mag release spring from railscales & the difference compared to milspec is night & day. Ik its not a vital upgrade & most people prolly wouldnt care, but if ur into making ur rifle custom & u like paying attention to the small details, this button paired with a quality spring is right up ur alley.

Best AR charging handle, period.

Written on Apr 20, 2021

If like me, u only use 1 side of the charging handle to rack ur AR, than this is the best charging handle u can get, hands down. I always use the palm of my hand (facing up or down ) on tge left side of ANY AR no matter what type CH is on it. So the fact that Fortis eliminated the entire left side, IMO, is the most logical way to design a CH thats being used for a rifle thats 100% built to personal specs. I dont see any need for an ambi CH when ik the entire right side is only gonna be there to snag gear or add width to the upper. The only negative aspect i can imagine is if in a real life situation where ur defending urself or family & ur left hand gets injured & is out of action, it would now take u mich more time to manipulate ur bolt. But if ur that seriously injured ur going to be behind some type of cover anyway it u have to manipulate ur CH. Either that or ur out of the fight. Either way, the benifits outweigh the far fetched negatives IMO. Ive been using the Clutch for over a year now & have had 0 issues with strength or quality. The size of the actual handle is just right also, & my hands are a little bigger than "medium". Both function & quality top notch so far & i will use these CH's on every build.. So like I said, if u use one side of ur CH to rack ur weapon, then get the Clutch. Ull love it.

OUTSTANDING!

Written on Apr 18, 2021

Yes, its heavy for a tac light, yes its long & a lil bulky. But so what? If u cant manipulate ur weapon cuz the light is a lil heavier than others, then u need to bulk up a lil. This light performs amazing, & i would sacrifice a lil weight for such a great piece of hardware that isn't $400.
The lumens are off the chart. Using the brightest setting in my room during the day makes me see red spots for a few minutes. So for outdoor use the bright setting will light up ur whole yard, if not the whole street.
For indoor use the dim setting is perfect & shoots a nice focused beam of light toward ur target with the right amount of excess light to easily observe ur surroundings.
The strobe function is just rediculous. Im not one who usually looks for lights w a strobe feature, but if u want a good one this is it. It will def disorientate anyone u use it on, including urself if u use ina small room, so i dont advise strobe feature in that scenario.
I feel the same about lasers, so for me the laser is just a bonus feature & works very well. Is easily visible w bright setting & works just like most other red lasers when used on its own, & is easily zeroed. Love the fact that when using pressure pad, a small left turn of the cap allows u to use just the laser if u want.
The ten tap setting feature is also great IMO so u can have ur light set up the way u like it & it stays that way.
Just a great addition to any weapon. Not only does it work great, but has many other great bonus features

EXCELLENT FOLDING ADAPTER!

Written on Apr 17, 2021

This adapter is excellent! Mounted the Fixed to Fixed on my Sig556 using a Magpul UBR. When u open the box, at 1st it seems the adapter is too stiff & hard to fold. Buy once installed, the leverage with stock mounted gives it tge perfect amount of resistance to where it wont flop around when folded, yet still easy to unfold quickly. The quality is superb.
TO HELP WITH MANY QUESTIONS: THIS ADAPTER WILL ONLY WORK ON AR15's THAT USE A SHORT STROKE GAS PISTON SYSTEM! IF U HAVE A TRADITIONAL AR15 THAT USES DIRECT GAS IMPINGEMENT, THEN THIS ADAPTER WILL NOT WORK, CONTRARY TO SOME OF THE "EXPERT" ANSWERS IN TGE QUESTION SECTION. The BCG on traditional AR15's needs to be able to go all the way back into the stock/receiver extension/buffer tube to cycle properly. This adapter doesn't allow the BCG to go past the end of the receiver. Short stroke piston AR's & AR style bolt action rifle chassis ONLY!

This folding adapter is AWESOME!

Written on Feb 22, 2021

Bought the Fixed-to-Fixed adapter for a Sig556 ER (w/M4 style lower) using a Magpul UBR stock. I was trying to decide whether to get the 1 way or 2 way & am glad I chose the 1 way cuz there is absolutely 0 movement or wobble & the stock will only fold if u fold it, won't unfold on its own like other loose/weak adapters. These are extremely well made with very tight tolerances. When u 1st open the box,it's near impossible to fold the adapter by hand. But once u actually install it, the leverage of the stock length gives the perfect amount of resistance so that folding the stock is easy but won't move on its own. The finish is excellent as well & the lock up is solid. I can't say enough good things about MDT folders. Just a note for anyone who is new to the AR platform or inexperienced, this adapter will only work on AR platforms that use a long stroke gas piston system, similar to the AK47. It will not work on direct gas impingement AR15's since there is no clearance for the BCG to cycle into the receiver extension/buffer tube like the Law Tactical Folding adapter does.
