Shooters Should Demand Better

I seriously can't believe the state of the market on shot timers right now. You cannot find a timer that is waterproof, backlit, and capable of many other basic features like adjustable sensitivity in one package. I see there is one model coming out from Kestrel Ballistics which might offer a comprehensive suite of features but it looks like it may STILL be missing a backlit screen. It's 2022, it blows my mind the engineering and quality of these devices is still fast-food happy meal toy quality at best if not actually worse.

Let me get to the reason why I went with the ProTimer BT: company that is basically industry standard for shot timers, adjustable sensitivity, backlit screen, and bluetooth. I would really have liked to have had this be weatherproof since I shoot a lot in bad weather conditions but apparently rubber gaskets is asking too much. Let me get to the build quality which is absolutely terrible. I dabble in DIY electronics and I can tell you this thing feels like it's made out of the most dollar-store brand-imitation kids toy from a third-world quality plastic and components. I've had it for a week and taken it on exactly one range trip and already the screen has a nick in it and the paint labeling is chipping off. It spent most of it's time clipped to my backpack that was sitting in my trunk with a fabric interior.
