I bought the scope for my Ar-10, but I have initially put it on an AR-15 so I can really test it out with high volumes of shooting using both 556 and a 22 conversion bolt. The 22 conversion bolt really allows you to make use of the Christmas tree reticle inside of 200 yards.
The only drawback is that with the mount it weighs 2.5 lb. That's why it's going to end up on an AR-10 with a 20 inch barrel which is going to balance it better.
I have done lots of reviews on this scope in my youtube channel... Poconoshooting. The large objective lens is good for low light shooting at distance, but it will still get dark after 20 magnification. In bright light no problem going up to maximum 25 magnification. I really like the auto ranging feature which gives this scope a combat pedigree.
The Athena BPR reticle is excellent. You can self-spot your own shots if you're shooting into an area that you can see the impacts. The only thing I would suggest is while they have the full man on the right side, they should put the half man on the left side. You can still autorange a man from belt to head and divide by two.

Get the Optics that have the circle around the dot. It is a lot better for fast Target acquisition. I have a few of these that only is that I bought when I was trying them out and I have sold most of them off in favor of Optics from holosun have the big circle. Right now I only use the dot only as temporary Optics if I just want to test the gun out before I get a permanent optic on it. So it is good if you just want to see how accurate the rifle is but shooting with the big circle is much much better.

I have compared a few variable Scopes side by side and I think the primary arms 1 to 8 is the best value and also ranks pretty high overall even against the best scopes.
The thing that makes it stand out is the acss reticle. It is ideal for CQB situations where your battery is dead and you have to just use the etched reticle. The Horseshoe is small enough and thick enough that you can see it without illumination. Some of the other horseshoes that I tried out were too big and too thin to be able to use reliably for aiming with just the etched reticle in CQB and low light conditions.
At distance or with the illumination, they all come in about the same.
I do not like first focal plane because the Horseshoe shrinks to the size of a tiny Dot and you can not use it for fast aiming. The second focal plane of this scope is better for most uses.

Every pistol optic should have an acss reticle. This becomes obvious when you're shooting one handed or an unconventional positions. Major advantage when shooting around corners or at night. If you carry this don't expect the 50000 hour battery life because the gun is always in motion while you're carrying it and does not go to sleep.

I should say every single P80 gets this is like a check accepted g43. Most of the time I use the optic to rack the slide, but occasionally I'll use this as a slide release. It is big enough to activate but small enough so that it will not interfere with the holster. I highly recommend it.

This is kind of necessary if you use a variable scope or a magnifier. The Optics will not allow you to reach the normal size charging handle. You need something that sticks out a little bit. Normally you don't want it too big because it can snag on things, but you absolutely need it with the magnifier or oversized scope.

I match this magnifier up with the Holosun 510c. This way I have the benefit of the big window for Fast close distance shooting and then if I want to shoot at for the distance I just flipped the magnifier over. Even better if I decide that I don't want the extra weight on the rifle it comes off easily and goes back on easily with the quick release. I have a variable 1 to 8 scope on a dedicated distance shooter, the problem with that is that you're committed to a pound and a half of weight. No way to lighten that up.

I have already bought four 507 acss and I'm now buying my fifth one. There is no better optic for a pistol. The true test is when you come out of the holster and shoot one handed from some unconventional position. People say you need perfect presentation in order to be able to shoot a Red Dot. Realistic shooting does not always give you the opportunity to use perfect presentation. The 250 moa Circle helps guide you to the 10 moa chevron.
My only complaint is battery life. For everyday carry, you have to use it in manual mode so that you can still see the Chevron when you're in a shady area shooting into a bright area. In manual mode, sunny day brightness, you only get about three weeks of battery life. I've changed batteries three times on my carry gun in 2 months. With everyday carry, the optic does not go to sleep until you go to sleep.

I'm buying this for the third time. One of the great things about the magnifier is that it comes off real easy so if you don't want to have it on there you can take it off and then throw it back on without having to re zero or anything. You can put this magnifier up behind any other optic as well. I use it for my 503g acss.
I also recommend you get a large ambidextrous charging handle because it's hard to reach the standard size charging handle.
There will be a slight point of aim point of impact shift when you use the magnifier. Approximately 3 in at 50 yards. 0 with the magnifier because it will not make that much of a difference when you're not using the magnifier.

Works excellent with a variable scope or if you have a magnifier behind your optic.
If you don't have a large scoped and don't use it because when you swing the rifle it is likely to snag. But when you have a large scope, it is less likely to snag because the scope extends outwards on the sides.
If you do have a variable scope or a magnifier, it is very hard to get to the charging handle unless it is slightly oversized.
