Best light/laser for S&W Shield, hands down

Written on Oct 11, 2018

Crimson Trace has really outdone themselves with this one. I love my Shield with a Shield RMS milled into the slide and this Laserguard pro just finishes off what is in my opinion the optimal carry gun. I have used everything from the Viridian “instant on” light/laser to the Lasermax “grip sense” technology that trys to improve upon the actuation of the light/laser but in my experience they just dont equate to the performance and reliability of the Crimson Trace. There have been multiple times with both Viridian and Lasermax where they just didnt turn on when they were designed to which leads to having to fiddle with batteries and buttons to get them to operate again. That is something that is unacceptable for a carry gun where if you need your gun you need it immediately and you need it to work immediately. The Laserguard is in my experience the only light/laser that has never not worked, especially after a long hot sweaty day of carrying where other products tended to malfunction. The light is the perfect brightness and doesnt wash out the Shield red dot indoors against a white wall, and the green laser is also the perfect intensity to pick up with your eye instantly. The only con I can even think of, and its pretty nit picky anyway, is the battery change procedure requires unscrewing and unmounting the unit from the triggerguard and that can lead to stripped out screw heads after some time and a couple battery changes. The batteries, however, last for a long period of time

Awesome stuff for supporting an awesome cause

Written on Oct 11, 2018

Not much to be said about this swag kit that isnt already obvious. Mine came with two awesome hats a ton of stickers and a patch or two. Some ear plugs and just other random cooll stuff. I honestly was buying it to support the cause and would have been happy with little or no swag but the amount of stuff you get for only $20 is incredible. Just one of the hats alone was worth the $20. Buy this, support an incredible cause, and get waaaay more than $20 worth of swag...?! Its a win all the way around!

Unreal design... Last wallet I’ll ever need!

Written on Sep 12, 2018

First off lemme say I got this wallet due to its ability to not only seemingly organize and keep subdued all the stuff I carry in my wallet from keys to cash and cards to business cards but do it in a slimline way that doesnt give a backache from sitting on it, as well as its ability to have paracord tied to it to attach to a belt loop so as to not have to go through the aggravation of a lost wallet again. It stores literally anything and everything I need it to, and does it even more slimly than my previous wallet due to its incredibly well thought out design. It looked good in the pics but its function is only truly realized once its in hand. Also the main reason I got this instead of a different size or different wallet altogether was that it still seemed as if it would fit in a normal size pant pocket, which it does on all but one pair of abnormally small pocketed size shorts, and the ability to tie paracord to it to wear around the neck, which ill probably never utilize but it is cool to have the option, but most importantly the two holes in the wallet allowed me to tie the paracord in such a way that, without re-tying or changing in any way, I can hang it from my neck or loop the paracord around a beltloop and put the wallet in my pocket so as to have the benefit of a chained wallet without the bulk and biker look of it. Its super quick to get on and off the beltloop by just using a loop and sliding the wallet through the loop around the beltloop and then placing it in

Good quality but not well thought out

Written on Jun 30, 2018

Ok, first off no one can contest the light is high quality and it does work well. The issue I have with it is just the fact that some of the features seem to be afterthoughts instead of key design elements. Most people that carry this size light do so everyday in their pocket or on their belt so they can access it quickly when needed. Olight got that part right with the clip as it is easy and quick to get too however the problem is getting the light activated quickly. I carry my lights on lockout mode when in my pocket or on my belt so I dont accidentally turn them on and run the batt. dead then when I need it it is useless. The button pressing process to get the light into and more importantly out of, is just clumsy and slow. To get the light to lockout you have to press and hold the button til the light comes on in its dim moonlight mode then flashes back off. Ok thats not so bad. However, to get it out of lockout you repeat the same process of holding the button for a solid 3-5 seconds and then when it does unlock its only on the dim moonlight mode. So then you have to press and hold the button again to cycle up to a useful brightness and its just way too clumsy especially in a time when you need your light quickly from pocket to on and shining. The base that charges the light is a really cool idea that works well but i have had an issue getting it to show that ththe light is fully charged, because the light on mine never goes green indicating full battey it just always st

Only grip extension I use

Written on Oct 09, 2017

The Pearce mag extension should come with the m&p shields as far as im concerned! I put it on my shield .45 because the flush mag plate let my pinky hang off and just wasnt comfortable and the extended mag plate that s&w provides works fine but to me it isnt worth giving up the concealability of the shield under my clothing for one extra round. The Pearce mag grip is the best of both worlds because you dont give up concealability and it doesnt cause extra printing under my clothing but it gives a perfect place for my pinky to sit on the grip of the gun and actually seems to provide a better purchase overall because the bottom of my hand can push against the small swell in the extension that seems to give me better recoil control with my pinky being able to not only rest on the swell in the extension but actively push against it and negating against the recoil. Every pustol

Fits great

Written on Oct 09, 2017

This mag release extension works perfect on my m&p15 sport 2. My fingers werent long enough to reach the mag relase without readjusting my grip so this was a perfect solution to being able to operate any of the options on my rifle without moving my grip from my shooting grip, also works perfect in conjunction with my b.a.d. lever and now my shorter fingers arent an issue what so ever. Do make sure to screw the mounting tab in the same number of spins as the factory tab was or it will make the release a bit touchy and not want to release the mag. But when its put on with the correct adjustments, it couldnt possibly work any better, all my ar style rifles will have this extension and a bad lever from now on! Only downside was the fact that the mounting button is a bit smaller than the factory one so it does have a bit more play in how much the button moves around in the hole in the lower but definetly nothing noticeably annoying or sloppy by any means

Great grip

Written on Oct 09, 2017

I love this grip! The material texture feels great and without gloves on it gives you a great purchase of the grip. With gloves on it is probably the most somid thing ive ever grabbed as fat as a pistol grip goes. You will not slip while holding this grip whether your hands are wet or dry, the contour and shape of this grip fits my hand perfect! Plus theres a tool kit that can be slid up into the handle for emergency repairs in the field. This is the only grip i will put on any of my rifles!

Keymod clip mount

Written on Oct 09, 2017

Overall for the price its a great option however if your worried about cosmetics it does scratch up rather easily and the little tab that orients the screws on the underside of this piece where it sits in the keymod holes was a bit too big and didnt let it sit totally flush with my rail. A bit of grinding with a file took care of it and now it sits flush and works great. Nice big loop to catch your sling or whatever your hooking to it and its built seemingly very solid.

Great sling

Written on Oct 09, 2017

This sling is great! The overall length was a bit too long but not so much that I cant use it. Also the elastic that covers the clips is a bit of a pain to get the clips on and off where your mounting the sling but if you just fold them back they stay out of the way and when folded back down they prevent extra noise and scratches on the gun. Overall its a great 2/1 sling for the price.

Great optic mount

Written on Oct 09, 2017

This 45 degree offset optic mount performs perfectly and is set at just th right height and angle to get a great view while still keeping your cheek solidly mounted to the buffer tube. I was skeptical at first because i didnt think the angle and offset would be right to be comfortable but I could not have been more wrong. For the price this is a great option, mounts solidly, no question of durability or quality, and it performs flawlessly!
