Yes, I own a RAS47. Yes, I know about the cast trunnion. Yes, I still have my vision. No, it hasn't blown up.
The Troy BattleRail gas tube fit perfectly onto my Century Arms RAS47. However, the securing ring had a tendency to back itself off. Not wanting to over-torque the securing-ring, I used a dab of blue Loctite solve this issue. I've run about 5-600 rounds through it since installation, and it still holding.
Yes, I own a RAS47. Yes, I know about the cast trunnion. Yes, I still have my vision. No, it hasn't blown up. I wanted to mall-ninja up my 'murican made AK variant, but "because RAS47" there will be some issues if you want this rail to fit:
> The sling loop that is cast into the side of the gas block will need to ground-down/dremmeled-off.
> Additionally, I also had to grind off some aluminum material on the rear-section of the rail that is intended to mate into RAS47's stamped receiver. I took just enough material off that I could use a rubber mallet to *encourage* the BattleRail to slide the receiver.
I now have all the rail real estate to oper8!
The design is ninja-AF. Troy's m-lok placement accepted my B5 Hand Stop in a location that allowed me to move my grip out a bit further than the usual AK grip locations. The extra top rail space beyond the front sight-post is low enough that lights/accessories will not impede iron-sights. The flat black coating held up nicely to the rubber mallet *encouragement* needed to coax the rail into the stamped receiver. The design of the rail keeps a non-gloved-hand cool even after sending several dozen rounds down range. The AK-purists will hate it, ha!
