This is not a two piece mount like many picatinny mounts, adapter, risers etc are. It is one piece that slides on from the rear of your AR. That means you will need to take off any other optic or back up iron sights to slide this thing on. You cannot unscrew the screws to loosen anything to mount if from the top. And it works great. It is simple and well made as is expected from Yankee Hill.
I have put 60 rounds through it so far and it has worked flawlessly. I built an AR9 using the Aero EPC-9 upper and lower with Tacom barrell and bolt and the gun with this mag has run great so far. No problems.
