Some fitting was required

Written on Aug 15, 2019

There are a few deficiencies in this unit that need to be looked at.

1) the buffer tube is asymmetrical up front where it screws into the lower receiver. However, this caused the upper receiver to not seat into the lower. The buffer tube protrudes by fractions of an inch, but just enough to keep the upper receiver from mating with the lower. Some quick work with a file / dremel and it fit.

2) the QD end plate is a nice touch, however it too did not fit without filing.

I tested both the tube and end plate on 4 different lower receivers of different branding and none of them fit.

Aside from this, I was able to file the tube and the end plate down so that they mated correctly and functioned.

Does not function as advertised.

I purchased the Fostech E2 earlier in 2018. Dropped it in an AR with a f/a carrier
echo mode would not work. sent it back, described the issue and they allegedly did something.

I received it back and tested.
This time the “echo mode” worked, but ONLY in very slow, very deliberate fire, no matter how hard or how far back you pull the trigger. The good news is that the semi auto pull is pretty good but this thing is a gimmick at best and certainly not worth the money.

Do not buy this, spend your money on a good enhanced trigger from a reputable manufacturer.

Great for suppressing a 308 AR

Written on Aug 29, 2015

I have this model on a 308 AR and it’s been integral to getting the gun to function suppressed at its default setting, the gun wouldn’t cycle a single round suppressed, and in fact, the optimal suppressed setting is 1/4 turn out from full closed. Of course, that’s not brilliant for unsuppressed, but another 1/8 turn allows the gun to function well unsuppressed. It took some more fiddling to get a properly functioning 308 AR suppressed, but once done, it’s run like a top.

Norm’s review indicates he cannot adjust without removing the hand guard, and I believe him. As luck would have it, mine allows allen wrench access through an mlok hole. If you don’t have a straight line to the adjuster with this, you might be able to get it with round head allen wrenches, which allow indirect access to a key like this unit has.

Great for the price

Written on Aug 19, 2015

I was looking for a good, sturdy QD bipod and this one is definitely that. It’s stable, positively locks, and the legs offer a great adjustment range. I like the QD. The lever offers a generous opening for rails that might be a little on the large side and it latches in place solidly.

The only downside I have is that this is heavy but it’s a fair trade off for the stability.
