Huge Upgrade Over a Mil-Spec Trigger — Follow-Up Shots Are Dang Near Instant
Written on Sep 10, 2026
Review for
Triggertech AR-10 Single Stage Duty Trigger
As a GWOT veteran, I spent years behind rifles equipped with standard mil-spec triggers, so that is naturally my baseline when evaluating an AR trigger. The TriggerTech AR-10 Single-Stage Duty Trigger absolutely blew me away.
The first thing I noticed was just how clean and predictable the break feels compared to the mil-spec triggers I'm accustomed to. There is very little wasted movement, and the reset is outstanding. Once the rifle cycles, you're right back on the trigger and ready for the next shot. Follow-up shots are near instant.
What I really appreciate is that it still feels appropriate for a serious-use rifle. I wasn't looking for something that felt like an ultra-light benchrest trigger. I wanted a trigger that could improve the performance of my AR build while still giving me a positive, deliberate trigger press. This one delivers.
Coming from years of military-style triggers, the difference is immediately noticeable. The TriggerTech makes the rifle feel faster, more refined, and easier to shoot consistently. The crisp break and quick reset make controlled follow-up shots feel almost effortless.
If you've spent most of your shooting career behind mil-spec triggers like I have, prepare to have your expectations reset. This thing is amazing.
Rating: 5/5 — Absolutely worth the upgrade.

Premium, Low-Profile Backup Sight

Review for
Magpul Industries MBUS Pro Flip Up Sights
The Magpul MBUS Pro Front Sight is a significant step up from basic polymer backup sights. The all-steel construction immediately gives it a solid, durable feel, while the low-profile design keeps it compact when folded and out of the way when running a primary optic.

Fortis AP2 Scope Mount – Excellent Fit, Finish, and Build Quality
The Fortis AP2 scope mount has been an impressive addition to my rifle setup. The first thing that stands out is the machining and overall fit and finish. Everything feels precise, well-made, and purpose-built. There’s no unnecessary bulk, and the mount provides a very solid interface between the optic and rifle.
Installation was straightforward, and once properly mounted and torqued, the AP2 feels extremely secure. The construction inspires confidence without adding excessive weight to the rifle. I also appreciate the clean, modern design—it complements a quality build rather than looking like an afterthought.
What I look for in an optic mount is simple: solid construction, precise machining, dependable mounting, reasonable weight, and confidence that my optic is securely attached. The Fortis AP2 checks those boxes.
Overall, I’m very pleased with the AP2. Fortis did a great job combining strength, quality machining, and a streamlined design. If you're putting together a quality rifle and don't want to cut corners on the optic mounting system, the AP2 is definitely worth considering.
