Good Basic Punch Kit.

Written on Jul 27, 2020

This kit would be better if it included a sturdier hammer and punches. As it is, the plastic and brass faces of the hammer keep unscrewing (unscrew them and put them back in using loctite) and the punches could be stronger (one rolled off my bench and landed on its tip, both bending it and mis-shaping the tip. I was able to save it, but making them a little stronger would be a welcome improvement. While this is a good beginners kit, and the size of each punch was listed in the description, the inclusion of starter punches would really improve the usefulness of this kit. I would suggest that unless you have the starter punches, you should buy the upgraded kit.

Long Term Review.

Written on Jul 27, 2020

I have been using this for a few years now and this is really a great feeling low profile Safety Selector. I also use Mil-Spec, Ambi Mil-Spec, BAD Ambi Safety Selector, BAD Ambi Safety Selector Pro, and Ambi Arms Unlimited. This selector is very smooth with positive clicks, a slim profile, and grippy serrations cut into the face. Compared to all of the other selectors listed, only the BAD selectors are able to match the smooth performance of the Seekins selector, and they are not as low profile as the Seekins selector, nor do they have serrations on the face, only the edges. This give the Seekins a slight advantage when gloves or worn, or in inclement weather. If low profile is a requirement, this is a good choice.

Great feel and easier to grab.

Written on Jul 27, 2020

If you have optics mounted toward the rear of the rifle where it interferes with the charging handle, this is all you need to improve your ability to grasp the charging handle without spending $60-$80 on a new charging handle. Install one of these for next to nothing and you will be able to feel the difference immediately.

Great for Mil-Spec Trigger Jobs.

Written on Jul 27, 2020

I usually replace my triggers with an aftermarket trigger, but in cases where I don't (i.e. where Mil-Spec triggers are required), I always replace 2 items; 1) I use a Mil-Spec hammer, but one that has been NiB coated, and 2) I use JP springs. There is also some polishing and reshaping on the trigger itself, but without the 2 part noted above, any effort on the trigger itself is wasted. Consider doing your own trigger next time, its fun, rewarding, and you will find that you can make a great single stage, Mil-Spec trigger with a little effort, and a minimum cash outlay. Try these and you will be impressed.
