I was skeptical but for the price, I couldn’t beat it when it looked like the form and materials were on par. I have been very impressed by its fit! I’m 5’9” 186 and it fits perfectly with room to adjust. The shoulder padding and narrow construction make it extremely comfortable compared to others that have really wide shoulder straps. It holds level IV+ plates from Guard Dog 10x12 snug. I wore it all day and it was easy wear for hours. The main drawback is that the placard buckles are not the universal type. At least they weren’t able to receive the other standard buckles I had that fit my Warrior Assault System placard. So I simply cut the buckle off and replaced it. It’s so simple and small and light, I think it might work well for a woman’s smaller build. I’ll be trying on my wife’s 5’4” frame and see what happens.

Solid plates! Wider than I thought. Double check the opening of your plate carrier against the plate thickness of the plates, my plate carrier wouldn’t fit these plates. It was too tight for the Warrior Assault Systems. Works for Shellback Tactical though.

I’ve been looking for some time and really skeptical about that actual rated protection of many cheaper helmets on the market and what fit into my budget. It’s really hard to know what is a knockoff will provide what protection is needed at the risk of the cheap price being offered. I landed on Guard Dog because I could see reviews, gain trustworthy recommendations about their armor and can handle the price point they offer. Which is not far off other more suspicious models.

Moreover the quality and fit are on point! Very comfortable, boa works great. Not the lightest but on par. It is the standard, base level I need and can upgrade when I’m ready.

Personally I’ll be buying more. Highly recommend.
