Maybe a good GP knife but there are better out there especially at price point

Written on Feb 01, 2018

The knife looks great. Really nice, comfortable G10 handle. Blade comes sharp and will hold a good edge. Decent sheath. My problem with this knife is that it doesn't handle batoning chores well at all. Mine broke at front base of blade with mild batoning through ash wood. Before it broke I had a chance to try whittling in order to produce kindling shavings, and it wasn't very good at that either (even though the blade was super sharp). I won't be buying another to replace.

First, do no harm

The purpose of cleaning your rig is to keep it functioning in peak condition and to prolong the life of your investment. The last thing you want to do is cause issues in this pursuit...putting scratches where they shouldn't be. These polymer picks are ideal for maneuvering cleaning patches into tight spots and getting the job done well and with peace of mind. You will also find many other uses for these picks as you use them. They're cheap too! Add them to your order and you'll be happy you picked up a set.

Very nice grip

Written on Feb 09, 2017

I have several of these grips and love them. I bought this version before knowing there was a rubberized version available (the plus model), which would have been preferable. I ended up putting a length of inner-tube over it like we used to do with forward grips/tape switches. At any rate, you need to understand what makes this grip great for some pieces, but less so for others. This grip is outstanding for PDW type weapons with shorter LOP and where you are operating in a CQB type of environment - clearing hallways, rooms, etc..., or shooting off-hand at the range . For this purpose it relieves stress on your wrists and puts the weapon in a more relaxed and natural position. However, if you plan to lay prone with your weapon, or do a lot of higher angle shooting, then you are better off with a more traditional grip that sets farther back - simple ergonomics. 6 of one, half-dozen of the other for bench shooting IMO. I'm so glad Magpul has brought this product to market, as it is a winner for pistols/SBRs/Carbines!
