First Belt

Written on Jun 27, 2020

I'm a 32" waist and it fits great (34-36); no flapping tails. Normal jean loops are a task but manageable for the inner belt. Molle loops are snug, required the butter knife guide to get molle straps thru. Outer belt is rigid out of the box, inner belt is firm, but not too much so.

Doubt there's much else to review about the system itself. Once it's fitted properly and snugged up there's only a very small chance of the outer belt being shifted up or down (shear), and that's with real heavy, concentrated force.

But, that was a fit test. See if it earns a 5th star or gets burned next range/test day.

Oh God. I'm so done with being an iron sight purist.

Cadillac gun sight. What sight picture? Works better than a corded mouse.

Thought I'd go cheap to begin with, but the anxiety of exact performance, life or death, on any given day isn't worth it. The cheap POS this replaced was my first jump into electronic optics. It held zero, mostly, but if your first shot is 100yds there was a good chance I'd miss. That and the cheap optics have a hard time projecting a crisp, clear image on target...

Moved up to EOTech to completely ease my mind. Found out I also need glasses, but it's worth more than I paid for it. Was concerned with the grainy appearance at first, just like all new guys, but this thing is crystal clear outdoors.

I haven't run any drills on it except triple taps and 2 and 3 target boxing. Out to 50 yards (need glasses) this thing is banging groups tighter than a newly confirmed nun.

I hear people griping about batteries though. All I can say to that is what a thing to whine about considering a lot of us dealt with much worse in the way of batteries in the grunts. As a civilian, with the access to Amazon we have, batteries are a joke.

It's on my trunk gun (300 BO, Aero, 16") that rides in my car, underneath a towel. It doesn't get banged around like my SAW did, but it's not secured to keep it from sliding around. Hoping it performs like an angel after a few weeks of that small amount of abuse. I don't doubt it one bit. Will update.
