OK for lefties too

Written on Feb 10, 2022

Sig packaging is the best. This ships with everything you need, multiple risers, the correct size hex key, bikini cover, and all secured nicely in foam. Obviously it pairs perfectly with the Romeo5. I was able to adjust the Romeo dot to center using the screws, I read reviews where others had problems but I didn't experience this issue.

I'm a lefty so I did rotate the magnifier 180 degrees on the mount to flip away from my face. But you cannot change the push to flip mechanism, it becomes a pull to flip. Since the mount is not centered front to back this places the button kinda close to the front lens. In the normal mounting where you push the button there's enough tube body hanging past the mount to use the same finger to swing the Juliet up. You really can't do that comfortably setup lefty and I find myself pulling the button with my index finger and swinging the optic with my thumb. The motion is a little more involved but it still works.

Nice compromise

Written on Feb 10, 2022

This is a solid compromise to a dual purpose solution. It's not the best bipod, and it's not the best foregrip, but its a fantastic hybrid. The rail mount is a little tight even with the screws all the way out, and I found myself having to force it on a little harder than I was expecting. Placement of the screws also do not allow this to slide, so it was almost like a snap-on/snap-off action. Opening the bipod has been extremely stiff for the first dozen or so times, the buttons are starting to loosen up. I almost thought I had to return mine because it just would not open the first time. Overall I'm happy, but the price was a little hard to swallow.

Insanely good

Written on Feb 10, 2022

I had the trigger pack in my cart but after reading reviews switched to this, and I do not regret my decision one bit. Yes the install is more involved (maybe 40-60 minutes vs 2 minutes), but the buy-in is one-third the price and you should know how to break down your rifle anyway. This completely eliminates the mushy pre-pull the factory trigger has. Pull weight feels about the same to me, but an install video I watched used a digital pull gauge and showed it actually as slightly less vs factory, which makes sense because you do eliminate a spring. Bang for the buck this should be the first or second thing you buy for your x95.

For the install highly recommend getting the barrel wrench from IWI, its like $15 and you get another neat IWI zipper pull with it anyway. That barrel unlock bolt is extremely stiff, especially the first time. Not sure how I would have done this without it.

Great and easy upgrade

Written on Feb 10, 2022

Took about 10 minutes to install. Just pop the locking pin and use two flat head screwdrivers to undo the bottom screw. I love the curve for faster take up to my shoulder. Really simple upgrade to my x95 that has immediate feedback.

If I had to add a con I think the overall cushioning/feel is just a little stiffer than the factory buttpad. But the pros outweigh this small nitpick.

Fantastic and worth every penny

Written on Feb 10, 2022

PERFECT size for my bullpup, pistol, plus magazines. Everything on this case is sturdy, nothing feels flimsy or worries me about breaking off. I primarily chose it for the 3-way claw latches and they do not disappoint. The waterproof gasket around the top edge is beefy, and there's even a raised lip on the bottom that seats into it when closed. You have to give it just the smallest amount of pressure to close, and that makes me feel more confident in the seal. Handles have a great rubber grip and they're spring loaded to lay flat which is a nice touch. A feature that I didn't see listed anywhere is that the lid stays standing when open, exactly as pictured. Its a very positive action, to the point where it's so stiff the first time I opened the case it felt wrong, but it loosened up after a few opens and closes. But let it be known the lid cannot lay flat in the open position.

Yes there are TSA locks built in, which is handy for daily use, but I love that they also include four metal reinforced eyelets for non-TSA locks. This will let me still use this case for flying commercial airlines with my firearms as a checked bag, which requires non-TSA locks.

If you choose the "with foam" option it comes with 4 pieces (eggshell for lid, a thick piece to cut, a thick piece for base, and a thinner bottom layer to accept curvature of the bottom shell).
