Mounted on new P365 in .380.

Written on Mar 12, 2022

Fast shipping and a good price from OP, thanks! Easy enough to mount following the instructions.
Using the only button this unit has is not easy, it’s deeply recessed and too close to the glass, it is not possible to both manipulate with a finger and see the reticle, also leaving fingerprints, or worse risking scratches if using a tool to press. I’m not sure at all why Sig placed it where it is.
Brightness range is great, as are the options for dot, circle, and both. Once set, this sight is easy to use and good for target acquisition.
The unit has to be completely removed from the slide to change the battery, also not ideal. Who wants to recalibrate after replacing the battery? Hoping this is rarely needed.
It’s small size is this sights main attraction, as it does not hinder concealment much, with the right holster.

Fantastic Wide field views!

Written on Sep 02, 2016

Used in my 8" Dobsonian telescope with a 203mm primary and a focal length of 1200mm (F5.9), this eyepiece yields about 34x. This eyepiece is an excellent upgrade from the stock eyepiece that came with my scope, a 30mm 2" wide-field. While my stock eyepiece could provide proper focus for objects in the middle of the field, objects closer to the edge were out of focus and vice-versa. With the Panoptic 35mm, the entire field is in focus. Both eyepieces are stated to have a 68* apparent field-of-view (AFOV), but the Panoptic 35mm clearly has a larger AFOV in a side by side test (holding both of them up together like a pair of binoculars). Pincushion distortion is only lightly apparent when panning and is not a serious issue, as it is a by-product of producing the entire field in focus. Andromeda and the double cluster were magnificent using this eyepiece.

Better than a barlow

Written on Jul 26, 2016

This powermate has a huge amount of glass, and is very clear. I have used barrows, but this PM is much bette, in that it doesn't change the exit pupil of my eyepieces. I think there is good reason to upgrade from a barlow.

Great for DSO's!

In my limited use with this eyepiece I have found it is very clear! The images are crisp with little if any stray light. Coatings are top notch and the eye relief is exceptional. Can't wait for the fall seeing!
