Chamber is too deep
Written on May 11, 2026
I bought this barrel in November of 2025 as I was collecting parts for a build. It takes be a while to collect all the pieces for a build as I have to limit how much I spend or I would just go crazy. I am A huge fan of Faxon and own many of their products and haven't had a problem until now. I finally got all the parts to build out the gun and begin the process of tuning and refining the parts before Cerakoting. First function test failure to fire , failure to extract. It was chewing the rim off of the cartridges, not getting a full bite and leaving a feint light strike. Called it a day and came back later with 5 different types of ammo and someone to help observations and brainstorming. (my engineer son) Still the same issues intermittently, Hornady match at least fired, but still failure to extract. So I threw a Faxon match grade BCG in from my blackout to see if it was a head spacing problem, still the same issue. The round appears to be too deep when in battery and only grabs half the rim on extraction which causes it to slip off. Aside from the fact that it is to far away from the bolt face for a proper primer strike. 1 in 5 rounds would go off and none would extract, I had to use a brass rod to poke them out. The cartridge wasn't crazy tight or seemingly deformed. I am terribly disappointed and I'm not sure if I should buy another Faxon barrel. This is my 12th build and all of my builds have gottento functioning and reliable rifles. Unfortunately I am way past the grace

Review for
Riflespeed Gas Control .750in Assembly Block
Construction is solid. They sent two gas rods to set up the gas volume. It was a welcome surprise. Definitely use Riflespeed's website to make sure you get the right setup.

Review for
Strike Industries Cookie Cutter Compensator
It does handle recoil. Put it on my 12.5" .308 with an A5 setup and it is tamed to at least controllable. But anyone even remotely near will shudder. Not bad for the shooter but be careful of the blast zone when resting on bags or barricades. Blew my field bag clean off the shooting bench minus some pieces. I may not have won the fireball contest with my son and his 10" PTR but it was close and mine was way more pleasant to shoot.

Missing parts

Review for
Luth-AR AR-15 Adjustable Gas Block .750 ID
Just like the other review says, it comes in a clear sealed plastic bag. Locking set screw was not in there. The only reason this didn't get less stars is the price. What did I expect for sub $30. Could have been worse apparently, if you consider the other reviews. Proceed with caution, even a slightly tight budget doesn't like having to buy twice or find parts that weren't shipped.

Do not buy this JUNK
Written on Nov 26, 2025
Would not even drop the hammer. I know I get it, many reviews we are left with the thought, man maybe he just didn't know what he was doing? This is not my first build. I am an engineer, a machinist and I paid my dues for seven years in industrial maintenance. This trigger just was not machined correct. The detent in the hammer was so stiff I almost couldn't get a taper pin through it. Still, it marred the anti-walk pin I was trying to put in rendering it useless. I have bought 7 other drop in Rise triggers and liked them well, especially at a good price point. I believed in them well enough I didn't read the reviews, that's on me. Don't let it happen to you.

Was not true

Threw mine in the lathe to square off the giant chamfer on the working face of this tool that really shouldn't be there and it wasn't even true. Very disappointing. I should have just made my own.

ERGO TDX-0 Tactical Deluxe Grip Plug
It might be tough to get in and out but it won't fall out. Excellent price for what it is. Got this for my ERGO TDX-0 Flat Top Tactical Deluxe Zero Angle grip and it fits well. Plus you can fit the little oil bottle out of a Magpul MOE K2 XL in there with all of the appropriate allen wrenches that fit the gun.

Beefy! If you like tiny grips this ain't for you.

Great grip, zero angle doesn't always work for every trigger guard so do your research. This grip has a nice swell to the handle that can potentially help spread out energy from weapons with a sharp recoil. No slip grip works and is durable. I did a distressed Cerakote over the handle and its holding up well. Better have big hands this is slightly larger than a Magpul MOE K2 XL.

Buy a SOLGW Loyal 9 A5 Buffer Tube
Written on Sep 27, 2024
Way too expensive for the poor fit. Every stock is a sloppy fit, maybe you might get lucky, as I did not try every single stock in existence. I really wanted to try the A5 system after finding out about it while I was looking for a buffer tube between carbine and rifle length. Carbine was too short and carbine to short for the setup I was looking at. Thank you dark hour for including relevant information in your product description but the fit up for this price point is not there. Buy a SOLGW Loyal 9 A5 Buffer Tube they are cheaper and everyone says it fits.
