Night using the Pulsar Trail XP50
Written on Sep 19, 2017
I am very happy with the Pulsar Trail XP50 and Pulsar Helion Xp50. They really show coyotes well at night and the gun will get MOA {1 inch) groups with the scope mounted on it. But ordering the thermal monocular and the scope was confusing because the names were misleading. The Helion XP50 was called a Thermal Imaging Riflescope and I thought it was a scope for a rifle but it was a monocular and did not have a reticle in it. By contrast, the thermal rifle scope was called a thermal imaging sight and it had a redicle but I thought it was a monocular. It took several phone calls to straighten this out. I had problems mounting the battery to the devise when it was dark. It would be helpful if the battery bottom edge was tappered and it was marked as to what was front and rear. Also, I felt the instruction manual was not clear and difficult to understand. How every I am technology challenged. Overall, I was very impressed with it.

Durable and steady
Written on Sep 10, 2017
The magnum deadshot fieldpod from Caldwell is a steady and reliable platform to shoot from once it is in place. I use it for night hunting and you can leave your rifle in it while use red lights or thermal optics to spot game (make sure the knobs are tighten enough to keep it from dump your firearm). It is easy to rotate your firearm 360 degrees once you are setup. It is fairly heavy and uncomfortable to carry too far from your vehicle and can be a little difficult setting it up on uneven or sloping ground but once it setup it is easy to use and very steady for shootin accurately.
