This charging handle should have been the one the MPX came with. For a $2000 firearm to come with the charging handle it does is insulting. Now my MPX feels like the premium firearm it is when charging, instead of a cheap piece of garbage. It also doesn't flop around like the stock one.
As for it not coming with the lifter block, this charging handle does not need it. I also think Sig quietly launched MPX Gen 3.1. My block has a new tail and the lower receiver is milled out so this tail fits in there. Now the aluminum charging handle rides on this steel tail instead of the aluminum receiver, which was the cause of the scuffing. I noticed some MPX Gen 3's have this tail while others do not.
I wish I knew about this mount prior to buying the RMR/low profile mount (RM33) combo. I would have just ordered the naked RMR plus this mount and saved some money. This mount is a huge improvement. It is very high quality, as one would expect from Trijicon.
The huge advantage of this mount is the quick and tool-less release and being able to maintain zero. The standard RM33 mount is slow to attach and remove, requires tools and requires re-zero. This is a much better mount for use for a primary sight on a shotgun or other firearms that require a low profile mount.
The only potential disadvantages this mount has is that it is 4mm taller than the standard Trijicon low profile mount and somewhat more bulky, which may be an issue for some people and/or applications. I have this sight mounted on a home defense shotgun. It is just noticeably taller over the old RM33 mount, but it does not impact anything. It still does block the iron sights on the shotgun.
I wish it did come with some documentation. It takes some figuring out if you are unfamiliar with these mounts.
This kit comes with the mount, screws with loctite and the Trijicon tool.
I would definitely recommend this mount over the RM33 mount for a primary sight on a shotgun. The quick release feature is a nice and much welcome improvement. For use as a mount for the RMR on a rifle as a primary sight, it is barely tall enough and requires a lot of straining to use it. For use on a canted rail for a rifle secondary sight,
This is such a high quality little reflex sight. I purchased it to mount on my home defense shotgun, which I have no doubts that it will stand up to the abuse. The dot is crisp and clear and the field of view is great. I definitely feel that I would go no bigger or smaller than the 3.25 MOA dot for the application I am using it for. The brightness adjustment settings are simple and intuitive. The 2 lowest settings are apparently compatible with night vision. I like how you can turn off the red dot as well to further conserve battery life. I also like how it uses a common CR2032 battery. It is also very light and compact on top of that.
The low profile picatinny mount this sight comes with is not so great, although it is well made and high quality. If you take it off and put it back on, you have to re-loctite and re-zero. You also need tools to do this as well. That coupled with needing to re-zero after changing the battery as well is pretty annoying (although changing the battery rarely has to be done). If you plan on rarely taking this sight off, the included mount works perfectly. In my opinion, you are way better off purchasing the naked sight along with the Trijicon RMR Low Quick Release Mount AC32076 (low profile - if you intend to mount it on a shotgun), or some other high quality quick release mount. I personally have the Trijicon quick release mount on the way as I write this. The mount also blocks the sights on my shotgun so I will have to laser sight it. There appa
I was looking for a no frills stock to replace my run of the mill, standard adjusting AR-15 stock. This stock is so much better. It doesn't rattle and is very stable. It is also more comfortable. It has mounts for QD sling releases as an added bonus. It is extremely high quality, which I have come to expect from Magpul, and the price is affordable. It is extremely easy to install. Definitely a no brainer in terms of an upgrade. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking to upgrade their standard AR-15 stock with something as simple, yet way better.
