great knife except for the rolled edge

Written on Jul 11, 2019

the clip blade has small part of the edge that is rolled/folded over. it would take a pretty low grit stone to get this roll out so i am sending this one back and hoping the replacement doesn't have this problem. without this problem, this might be my favorite edc knife. the blades are long enough to cut food easily and it does not take up to much pocket space. make sure you have a way to touch up the blades(arkansas stone/ceramic stone/strop/...) before you buy a case knife if you are going to use it.

i returned mine for a replacement

Written on Jun 18, 2019

this review is for the first one i received, not the replacement. i haven't got that one yet. the one i got had a scratch on the back, both blades felt dull (there was a burr on one side of both blades), a hole around one of the handle pins, and the spey blade wouldn't open all the way. on the upside - i like the size of the knife, it will fit in a jean watch pocket easily. it is made in america. two blades is better than one, you can use one blade for work stuff and the other for food. the micarta handle is slightly textured and nicer than case's delrin in my opinion. hopefully the replacement doesn't have all the flaws like this one did. i called opticsplanet and they issued a rma for the knife and sent it back. i will try to remember to update this when i get the new one.

Cold Steel Master Hunter Stonewashed

Written on Jul 26, 2018

i am also having the same issue with the handle. i have bought this knife from two different online stores and both knives had the same problem. i sent pictures to the customer support at the first store that i bought it from and they said it should not be like that, so i returned it. the second one i bought from opticsplanet had the same problem. i have several other knives with the same sheath and handle material and none of them have this problem. the knives that don't have this problem are made in Taiwan. i have had issues lately with the handles on several cold steel knives (pendleton hunter and pendleton mini hunter). i like this knife so much that i bought one for me and one as a gift for my father, but cold steel's quality control seems to be slipping imo. opticsplanet had free shipping and the best price when you apply the discount code.

Morakniv Garberg

Written on Feb 04, 2018

this is a nice knife, but it is not for everyone. i have medium size hands and the knife fits my hand ok. i hesitated on this knife because it doesn't have any finger protection, but all the reviews i watched/read said that the handle was really grippy. it isn't! i have two other mora knives that i paid less than $20 for and they both have more grip and finger protection. i like the sheath, the blade, the spine, and the full tang, but i sent it back because of the handle. this is a knife with a good sheath and blade, but you can find a better handle on some of the cheapest mora knives.
