I wanted to follow up on the previous review submitted on Aug 2nd. CMMG did immediately send my BCG back with a new bolt and I did not have to wait the estimated 4+ weeks for someone to inspect and evaluate the stuck ejector.

First trip to the range today and both the Speer 40 gr & Range Dynamics 62gr ran flawlessly through it. Not a single issue! Consistent feeding, ejection and BCG cycling. Exactly what I have come to expect from CMMG based on previous experiences. This is definitely a keeper and was an absolute blast to shoot! Especially with the 62gr subsonics. The spring action in the buffer is noticeably louder than the report at the barrel or the ejection port with a suppressor attached. This is quieter than any 300 BO I've owned using subs.

I would definitely recommend this upper mated to a quality built lower, but to be honest, for what I spent on building a quality lower I could have just bought the pistol version of this and been done. If I had to do this again, that's definitely the route I'd go. I chose to use an FDE Aero M4E1 stripped with Geissele internals, buffer tube, buffer and spring.

This is in no way a reflection on Optics Planet. They were great as always, but I've had CMMG projects in the past and never had an issue. Actually, I've never had this issue on any AR format rifle/pistol - EVER!

Mated this new upper to a brand new lower with Geissele parts except for the stripped receiver which was Aero Precision. Took it to the range to zero the optic and the first two shots were fine. On the third shot, the spent casing was stuck in the bolt face causing a double feed. Cleared it and kept going, but could only get one maybe two shots before it would do the same. Eventually it got to the point where it was happening with every round. I was able to zero it and it worked great with both Speer 40 gr & Range Dynamics 62gr. The 62 gr was about what I remember 300blk subs sounding like. While I'm excited about the potential of this, the real disappointment came when I got home to strip and clean the pistol. I found that the ejector was stuck inside the bolt flush with the bolt face, which explains the ejection issue. Disappointing for sure, but no biggie. I took photos of everything and submitted a ticket with CMMG. Listed every part used in the lower, type of ammo, thorough explanation of what was happening and numerous photos showing different examples of stove pipes, double feeds, all with a case still stuck in the bolt face. That included pics of the bolt showing the ejector frozen in the recessed position.

Purchased this a couple of years ago because the OP was out of the Wilson Combat TTUs at the time and needed it for a build. Worked fine the first two trips to the range (less than 150-200 rounds combined). Started having issues where the bolt would cycle and chamber a new round, but the trigger would not budge. Thought I had a bad BCG so I purchased a new one from Aero (figured that it didn't hurt to have a backup anyway) but same issue. Have been dealing with this issue for almost a year and finally called my armorer. After describing the issue he gave me two things to test. The first test was to swap the lower with a known good unit (happens to be one with the Wilson Combat TTU in it). Worked flawlessly, which he confirmed means that there's an issue with the trigger unit. I've been running 2 Wilson Combat units for quite awhile and with much heavier use. One of them has close to 2k rounds with zero issues.

These triggers seem to be highly rated and I may have just received a bad unit. This was my first CMC product and I'd be very hesitant to take a chance again at their cost. The Wilson TTUs have run flawlessly for me and at close to $200 with tax and shipping, it's not worth chancing it again.
