Came with missing hardware.
Battery is proprietary-finite usage.
Light is not bright at all, not focused and the strobe is a 3 count blink.
Flimsy design keeps it light weight.
Not a great hand fit or angle.
Expensive, id pay about $25 bucks for this thing as is.
Do not use the cap head screws for this mount included. They are complete trash. Instructions say to torque to 7 lb. That's not enough for recoil. It's barely enough to keep it on in the case. I torqued one screw to 10 lb and it snapped in half requiring a Dremel and a prayer to remove it. A stainless replacement M4 .07 30mm worked wonders even though factory length is custom to 28mm. Customer service is non-existent. Remember that when plunking down $400 for their setup.
4.5 inches soft rubber earthworm texture. These don't really lock in the mlok since they are soft rubber like the lopro ones lock. They sit up and give an earthworm sitting on the rail feel. No screw and no real lock leads me to believe these will be falling right out. They cover three slots so getting 4 of them is a little bit overkill.
This is a great upper. I noticed it much more expensive on a different site and was pleasantly surprised to find it here with optics bucks. Not as many optics books as the radicals but it still had enough to put a dent in some of the order. The first thing that went bye bye was the a2 birdcage, and it was on there pretty good. Cuz I'm there tight enough that I was not going to mess with the gas block at all. It's a really tight diameter handguard so don't think you're going to fit anything under this it's a good thing that it's a 9 in. I don't even think a lot of gas blocks are going to fit under this thing. In my rough estimation I don't believe anything over 2.625 will fit under this handguard. Kaw valley linear definitely would not have fit inside but it's a non-issue because this is a nine inch handguard on a 10 inch barrel. The OD Green is mil-spec OD Green not Magpul.
I for some reason thought that this displayed 300 BLK when it was opened. It does not. When flipped open it's just plain black and when it's closed it shows 300 BLK. This pretty much contradicts every other custom dust cover design.
Got a lot of grip to it. I specifically bought it for a more upright angle for a AR pistol. This is where it really shines. I normally get the rubber houges and they're a completely different feel. This is a good change I don't think this will be permanent but I don't know of anything else that has this upright angle to it the big con is that it's so much short it comes down to the bottom of my palm.
Bought this in orange and immediately put them in the midwest combat rifle sites. The line up lower 1/3 co-witness in the regular mount that comes with a vortex strikefire 2. I'll have to get him to the range to cite them in but I see no reason why this combination does not work well bore sighting this right out of the box. See the picture!
This first things first this is an amazing deal the 15-in m lock quad rail is a Magpul and by itself is 90 bucks even on this site. The barrel's nice nothing fancy I took the a2 birdcage right off threads are real nice for any other muzzle device. Receive the upper receiver solid it's pic rail goes all the way down no additional rail sections necessary. 200 dollars free shipping plus 50 bucks in optics bucks to use on any BCG you want? That's half the price of something not even close to comparable all plastic out of their competitor out of NC state. It's mid-length and the gas block is nothing special it's not adjustable it's on a .750 hole. Gas block is a replaceable item down the road if your mid-length is over or under gassing. As is its serviceable. I did pair this with an H1 buffer per the specs but next time out to the range I will try a carbine buffer because it's just slightly short stroking with a heavier bcg and comp than just a garbage level BCG and birdcage the things probably meant to be running with because I mean it is bottom of the line kit parts. Saying that it's still better than whatever comes on the retail shelf from a dozen manufacturers with the big ancient gas pins and giant plastic handguards.
I luckily was able to fit this in my castle nut but there's no way to use this wrench with just your hand it's about 4 inches and get any leverage on it whatsoever. You are going to have to use the socket adapter and put a real wrench to it to get any sort of torque or to Target to any specifications.
Was a great grip it's got to beaver tail it's very comfortable it's very snug on the lower it's got a little tab if you have a trigger guard that comes up short and you can cut off if the trigger guard is long. This is not good for new builds because you will be short the installation screw which every other grip on the planet comes with. Good luck finding a screw with a washer for a grip retail without buying a Magpul off the shelf so you're out 20 bucks for a screw.
