Punch Set - Unsure How It Will Hold Up...
Written on Jan 30, 2025
Review for
Real Avid Accu-Punch Hammer & Pin Punch Set
I needed a set of punches and this one was on sale. I have used it twice and while it has been sufficient in getting the pins out, there is substantial flattening at the nose end. The two punches I used look like they have little pancakes on the tip. These were the more expensive brass set, so I was expecting a little more durability, especially after only two uses. Time will tell how they hold up.

Fatman Hexbrake - Beretta PMX
Written on Jan 30, 2025
Review for
Phase 5 Weapon Systems Inc Fatman HexBrakes
I threw this brake on a Beretta PMX and my first note is: It looks amazing! Seriously, wider handguard platform guns where the barrel sticks out an inch or two from the handguard become much more aesthetically pleasing with this. This is because the brake covers about an inch back from the threads. Took it to the range already and you can definitely tell a difference in muzzle rise when taking quick follow up shots. The top and side ports keep you nice and flat, while the absence of ports on the bottom avoid creating a dust signature when firing from prone. This is not the cheapest brake, but the quality is obvious when you have it in your hand. I am likely going to purchase another one of these for a Galil Ace Gen 2.

Pouch is solid, but was shipped damaged or used...
Written on Sep 25, 2020
First purchase from Optics Planet. I was looking to find a couple odds and ends in MultiCam Black, so I was excited when I saw this item in stock. My other two purchases arrived in the shipment new and packaged, but not the HSGI Triple Taco Shingle. It came in the box with all of the components loose and out of the packaging. More concerning is that it was damaged and from the way it looks I suspect an item that was returned. The bottoms of all of the bungee chords were severely frayed to the point where the inner bundles of elastic were exposed on all 6 ends. It looks like someone cut the bungee straight across then purposefully unraveled the nylon, but I can't imagine why someone would do that. The shingle was pretty badly bent into a "U" shape, away from the wearers body. The HSGI clips also came bent, with 2/4 being bent the incorrect orientation. Really not happy with how it showed up.. looks like someone just threw a bunch of loose parts in a box. I took pictures and was going to just send it back, but decided to fix it myself instead since I could not find it anywhere in stock. I cut off the exposed bungee on the pull chords and sealed the nylon with a lighter. The bungee is now kind of short so I'll probably be replacing that eventually. The HSGI clips are good quality and bent back no problem, but the Shingle doesn't sit flush on my rig even when attached so I'm weighting it down hoping it'll break in. I looked up a bunch of videos and pictures of HSGI products, noth
