I got this to mount a Primary Arms SLX 3X. Works great, but keep in mind you can't use any of the mount bars that come with the SLX. It would put the scope too high. If you want to use the offset cantilever mounts that come with the scope you'll need a Mini-ACOG mount without the spacer already built in. Something like the American Defense mount. As it is, this is perfect if you mount the scope all the way back on the last Pic slot. You will not be able to run a BUIS. But thats fine by me because the scope has an etched reticle. No batteries needed.
I really like these new generation lightweight 3X scopes. Good for lightweight build AR15's. Comes with many optional mount plates and spacers. Goes over top back up sights behind it with no problems.
I just wish they made the AFAB in .308 caliber. The EFAB's are at least 50% higher in price, for just a couple of percent better recoil reduction. I haven't seen how they compare in flash reduction to the AFAB. But the .556 AFAB had a flash signature only slightly more than an A2.
Wouldn't think this is a part that could be messed up, but it is. My pin will not go though the hole all the way. Diameter is larger on one side than the other. Maybe a ridge or burr inside the hole. Too cheap to ship back, So I'll order something different.
I've got 5 of these sights on most all of my guns. Love the rear sight design especially. Like the fact the adjustment for windage is done at the base instead of up high. Very small footprint, that doesn't interfere with charging handles when mounted all the way rearward. Just one thing....The dam screws keep breaking. I'm very careful with proper torquing. These are extremely fragile. They use a slotted screw design, and the slot is either too deep, or they need a thicker base beneath the slot. They will break in half at the base of the screw head so easily. Not cool.
Great light. Does what its supposed to do. OP is a bit vague in the descriptions the various models available. This one in particular is a Gem 1 model. The head is not compatible with the Surefire Duel Fuel thread pattern. I recommend you buy the other newer models offered on OP.
I own several AR15's with these pins. Super strong and light weight, my favorites. I just bought these for an AR10. They do not fit Aero Precision M5 lowers. They are the correct diameter, but Pivot-Pin is too short, Take-down pin is too long. I tried another set of 2A Armament SR25/LR308 Titanium pins and they were wrong diameter. So far none of the Ti pins I have tried fit Aero M5.
I have a lot of these handguards for AR15's. Both the Lithium Ultralights, and the Magnesium Hyperlights. I just bought the AR10 15" Handguard. OP is not including the weight of the Barrel nut and screws. They list 9.4 ounces for the 15" size. Actual weight is 11.6 ounces total.
JP Enterprises has a great reputation for quality products. The one issue I have seen people complain about is the looseness of the gas rings. From what I can tell this is normal. The gas ring is a precision piece that is just the right size. It does not scrape the Bolt Carrier internals as do conventional rings. So if you do a conventional gas ring check procedure it will immediately appear to be a failure. They say these rings will not wear out, unlike the traditional rings that scrape. We'll see.
