Good in theory, not the most practical though

Written on Jan 26, 2023

Using inside the Magpul K2+ grip. Getting these to open or close to start with is a pain. Not exactly something you could do quickly or consistently if you need access to whatever you're storing inside right away. Maybe it breaks in with time. I did have it pop out of my grip once after about 100 rounds, luckily I saw it and didn't leave it behind.

In theory it's a great idea to make use of empty space inside your grip. In practice it falls short.

Better than MBUS2

Written on Jan 26, 2023

A mix of their previous version & the pro model at a cheaper price than the pro.

Streamlined and lays flatter than previous gen, although it doesn't fit perfectly flush to the rail. It does slightly bend upwards when not upright, although it has room to fit perfectly flush if you push it down, but it will return to a slight upward angle. Maybe this will correct as the spring wears in. Not a big deal, but a little annoying knowing that it can sit flusher inline with the rail than it does by default.

Check the height on it when extended, since it's slimmer the sights may not be as high as you want if you will be looking through an optic with them (on my holosun red dot they barely poke over the bottom of it). It doesn't obstruct the view of these sights, but if your optic sits higher than normal it may be an issue (which could probably be said for any iron sight though).

Overall recommended, a good improvement over previous gen.

Good compromise between grip & bipod, but bulky

Written on Jan 26, 2023

If you only have enough room for either a foregrip or bipod and you prefer to have both, than this may be a good option for you. It does have some quirks about it though to be aware of.

It is heavy, coming in around a full pound, and if you have it forward on your barrel as you most likely will than this is a hefty addition that will bring the nose down more that you will need to compensate for. The foregrip is very comfortable and the molded sections for your fingers fit nicely. The wing nuts on the side are a bit bulky and the 'head' of it overall is quite large. The flashlight switch slot on the side did not fit my Streamlight version, it might only work on Surefire (not certain).

Quality wise it seems to be made well and should be durable, it doesn't feel cheap or flimsy at all.

Opening it with the button to extend the bipod legs is not consistent. You have to really squeeze it hard to get the legs to consistently spring out, otherwise you'll get a 'partial extraction' on one or both of them and have to adjust them using the manual button on the legs themselves to get them to fully extend. The bipod legs are not very tall either, shorter than most other bipods I would say.

Closing them is easier than opening, but again you need to squeeze it really tight for it to close consistently. Also good luck trying to not get the skin on your fingers pinched in it when closing it too. Seriously.

In the end I returned this and went with a separate foregrip and bipod as I had ro

Great Ergonomic & Comfortable Grip

Written on Jan 26, 2023

Super comfortable grip that is my favorite one i've used by far. Allows your hand to conform naturally and maintain better control over your weapon. The additional thumb-stop is personal preference, I do recommend it though. You can always place your thumb elsewhere on the handguard or rail with it still attached. It does have a QD sling mounting point on it too.

Note: the M-Lok version only comes in the rubberized option with no additional storage compartment. The pic rail version is a normal polymer with the storage compartment. Currently the M-Lok is only offered in the rubberized style.
