I started shooting 700 yards at a State facility that is pretty basic. Most people shoot prone since there's no tables, but I'm older and couldn't get into an effective prone position anymore. A buddy I shoot with spent $600 on a tripod and I was using an old camera tripod, but without a ball mount, it was pretty unstable. So I really bought the Midas because it wasn't much more expensive than just getting a ball mount and I didn't want to spend $600 because I don't shoot that much. I was shocked at how sturdy the Midas is, just as sturdy and my buddy's $600 tripod. It has an Arca mount with an adapter for the Arca to use a screw mount that just slides in. I use the Arca for my Solus and attached a clamp to the screw mount for my 700. The Midas holds them each with a firm grip and stays stable even with the rifle is off balance. The adjustments for the ball are round knobs and it wasn't clear which knob did what until I played with them, but they all hold tight with minimum screw in pressure. The legs adjust with twist locks and are very sturdy, although they don't expand out quite as far as my buddy's, but far enough that I'm not worried about it falling over. All in all the Midas is a fantastic tripod on it's own, and shockingly great for the price point.

I can't believe this isn't more popular. 4x mag, red/green dot, lens etched WITH indicators, clear glass, better than fair price. Checks all the buttons. Even the eye relief is fine for an AR-15. The only potential issue is the same with many other brands - it sits low so you might want to use a riser.
