I like to have some kind of foregrip on my guns to give the support hand a reference point for where to grip for consistency. I picked this up for a shorter build that I wanted my support hand closer to the receiver and this just didn’t work for me. Would probably be fine for a more stretched out support-hand grip but I wouldn’t recommend if you want to grab your handguard closer to the receiver. Also a littler longer than I expected, covers two full M-LOK slots.
There are few parts I like to re-use when doing new builds but this is one of them. Other parts I like to change up when putting together a new build to try things out but I like this one so much that I end up using it on every build. The more vertical grip angle is super comfortable and the just overall ergonomics work great for me. Enough texture to not feel like your grip will slip but not so much that it feels “rough”.
I use these bolt release levers in all my AR builds. I’m right handed and love being able to lock the bolt to the rear with my shooting hand still on the pistol grip. I don’t think it would do much for lefties. I prefer this to the style of BAD levers that clamp on to a regular bolt release for the sake of looking more purposeful feeling less bulky. The skeletonized feature helps too in that it’s doesn’t block access to your hammer pin so you don’t have to worry about the order you assemble your lower in, you can install or remove your trigger grip without having to remove the lever because the skeletonized holds line up with the pins
