Made M16A4 Build Under-gassed

Geissele Super 42 Rifle Length Spring
I put this in a 20inch Aero Precision M16A4 build with a fixed front gas block and a fixed rifle stock. I installed the buffer spring and kept the stock rifle buffer. When I took it to the range to zero, the rifle was very under-gassed. The rifle would extract the fired round but did not have enough gas to put another round in the chamber. The bolt went forward each time and would not lock back on last round. After every round (around 100 all together ), I would have to drop the mag, manually lock the bolt back, insert the mag and hit the release to chamber a new round. Needless to say, I went home and put the original buffer spring back in.

Great Bolt for Running Suppressed

This is a high quality bolt if your plan is to run your rifle suppressed. However if you are planning to run without a suppressor, I would look elsewhere. I put this in a 16inch Aero Precision M5 upper with a Superlative Arms adjustable gas block and ran through all the settings. In all settings while unsuppressed, I could not get a reliable last round bolt lock back. I am able to get the brass to eject at the 3:30/4 o’clock position, but again no last round lock back. I assumed it was a pmag problem but the bolt locks back manually with an empty mag. I should’ve learned from a previous 300black build that you build to run suppressed or unsuppressed, but not both.
Solid Rail

Tough and durable rail. There will be no good times had during the install. I would try to tape up the delta ring or plan on painting it. Overall, would recommend because this drop in has tension screws to add more security.

This is a very rugged mount. Already owning 2 of these, I purchased my 3rd SPR-S from OP because they were charging $100 less than the manufacturer. The mount arrived with minor defects to the finish but definitely still a great deal! Highly recommend this mount.

Great product, pretty straightforward. This product will not fit a VIPER® PST™ GEN II
5-25X50 as the threading is slightly smaller on the killflash. I tightly wrapped OD cloth tape to secure it to the sunshade and it holds just fine.
