Works well

Written on Sep 11, 2020

Very easy to install. I believe this was the lightest option of braces for AR pistol builds from SB tactical. Also, even at full extension you are still under the 13.5" LOP (Length of Pull) which is why I chose this brace. Great product and great quality. If you are building from scratch, this does have the buffer tube... but you will need a castle nut, end plate, buffer spring and buffer.

Good grip and Texture

Written on Sep 11, 2020

This is my wife and I first (+) grip from Magpul. I was very skeptical on the rubbery material holding up in the heat. But took we took them out with our AR pistols to the desert in 110 degree weather and held up great. I thought that the heat would make the rubbery texture slippery, but it didn't for us. Can't wait to test them during the winter. Great job Magpul!

Great Craftsmanship

I ordered 2 kits to work with the SBA3 braces for my pistol builds. The design is definitely unique compared to most other castle nuts. The idea behind the "ratcheting system nut" is so that you do not have to stake your castle nut, just tighten until you cannot anymore and adds extra security as well as peace of mind for it not coming loose. I've read some people using vice grips to tighten down this castle nut because of the grooves, but I still used the old fashion AR Castle nut tool/wrench. The end plate is simple, thinner than some of the other end plates I've had in the past but still very durable. The only con is price. You can find cheaper basic castle nut and end plate kits. If you are really into building, you appreciate the little things. I like lightweight, durable, and great craftsmanship so I wouldn't hesitate buying this again. Shot both pistol builds last weekend, held up just fine. Very happy.

My first red dot 2MOA

Written on May 11, 2020

I've had iron sights for the last couple years and have been doing just fine with them. Finally wanted to upgrade to a red dot, but did not want to break the bank. After extensive research and you tube videos I chose this one. At first glance, opening up the box you can tell the quality is amazing considering the price point you pay compared to the higher end red dots. The red dot is crisp and clear, fully adjustable (10 brightness settings) and is night vision compatible (last 2 brightness settings). The finish is awesome, and the buttons are very easy to use. But most of all it has unlimited eye relief and can shoot your target with both eyes open if you wish.

I have it set up with the 1/3 co-witness mount (also comes with low mount which is nice in case you don't have iron sights). I know to each their own, but I read a lot of people like having a AAA or C123 battery in their red/green dot optic, but if you're trying to save overall weight of your firearm, common sense would tell you that a smaller battery would be the best choice. The 2032 that you need for this red dot optic is obviously very small and keeps the weight down. It is also not very hard to find... I just bought two from the dollar store (even though they provide you an energizer brand one). I like them because they are small enough to put inside my pistol grip compartment. Would I need extra? Probably not, it is rated for 40,000 hrs. Would it last that long? Probably not. Better to be safe th

Excellent Quality

Comes with two different size rubber pads depending on how you like it, and a hole if you decide to attach a sling. Very easy to install. Goes good with my Daniel Defense pistol grip. Would highly recommend. Can't go wrong with DD.

Great for SA MC Operator

Great price and excellent quality. I have 5 Wilson Combat 8 rounders, and they have been nothing but reliable. Finally upgraded to these 10 rounders and I'm sure I will not be disappointed. Its Wilson Combat, come on.

One thing I've learned when shopping on Optics planet is to make sure you cross reference the actual part numbers in order to get the exact item you are looking for or need. It is easy to make a mistake. I got the newest version of the 10 round in black with the feed rails. If you are not in a rush, use the discounts Optics always provides and wait a little. I'm fine with waiting a little knowing I got a good price on items that are not available anywhere else at times.

Perfect for Marlin .22lr

Everyone else was out of stock. Optics planet said it would take 7-14 days. After placing the order, it took a while but it was worth the wait because nobody else would let me place a back order. Plus I got a discount. Why not?

Daniel Defense Pistol Grip (mil spec brown)

Written on May 10, 2020

I love my Magpul pistol grips, but this Daniel Defense feels better in my hand. Ergonomics seem to fit better for me. I will not stop using my Magpul's though because this Daniel Defense doesn't work with all AR lowers. It will only work with lowers where you can install your own trigger guard.
