Awesome on 14.5”+ barrels

Review for
Precision Armament AFAB Hybrid Muzzle Brake
This thing is amazing on my 14.5” and 16” barrels. It provides balanced performance in flash reduction, minimizing side concussion and braking. Be aware that the AFAB is not designed for sub 14.5” bbls in 5.56. I tried it on one of my 10.5” uppers but the pressures were just too high and it became very loud and blasty. No stars off for that because it’s clearly stated that this product isn’t designed for shorter bbls. Precision Armament’s other brake/FH in this category, the EFAB, IS designed for shorter bbls and does a fantastic job on all fronts. I love both the AFAB and EFAB. PA hit it out of the park.

Overkill works for me

Precision Armament EFAB Hybrid Muzzle Brake
Really overkill for my 9” .300 AAC build. Lower gas pressures than 5.56 mean that it won’t work as hard. That said, after gas block adjustment with 4:30 eject and LRBHO, I have zero muzzle rise (or drop), .223 like recoil impulse, undetectable side blast and no flash with supers. I’ve run a couple 110 grain .308 varmint bullets (Underwood’s Varmeggedons, Factory Vmax), Barnes TAC-TX 110s and steel cased 145 grain Wolf Poly-Scat (dirty dirty rounds and not in a good way but feed and function fine). I thought I might as well get this pistol up to speed while waiting on Stamp. This FH-brake is smooth as butter. Waiting on an AFAB for one of my 5.56 guns. I’m hooked on these brakes.
