Good Product, BUT....

Written on Oct 28, 2021

I have several sets of these rings and they normaly perform very well for me. The 34mm, not so much. Unlike other manufacturers, on the Burris 34mm, the part of the base that engages the cross slot on the rail is integral to the ring base. On the set I received it is too wide to go into the cross slot on several of my rails.it is not unique to Weaver or Picatinny type rails, nor to rail manufacturer. It is a problem that can be overcome with careful file work, but not what I have come to expect from Burris.

Promise Unfulfilled

Written on Jun 02, 2020

Purchased this scope to use to shoot smallbore Dewar competition which shoots two stages, one at 50 yds and then a second at 100yds. As noted in other reviews, the optics are good, especially for the price, but not great. Still, it would be adequate to the job but for two issues. First, and foremost, it must be able to adjust reliably and often (especially elevation). On my fourth outing with this scope it failed, after completing the 50 yd stage, to adjust elevation at all. The turret turned, the clicks were nice and crisp, but the point of impact didn't change. Have you ever tried to shoot X's in competition with 3.75" of holdover?! Needless to say, that is a deal breaker and this scope is going back to Mueller as soon as they are open for business again. In the mean time, it's back to my old reliable Weaver T-36. One other aggravation with this scope is the large side focus wheel. It does not key to the focus knob like the one on my Hawke does. That would be okay if the clamp would tighten enough to fix the wheel on the knob. Unfortunately, the single allen screw does not tighten the split collar for the knob adequately, and the large wheel spins uselessly on the focus knob. Don't plan on using it. Bottom line: lots of promise for this value price point optic, but it doesn't deliver.
